I'm on Jei's side. I don't see red mages bitching about the constant refreshs and paralyze and slow spells. Which, btw, are used for what? 70 levels?

If you guys can't use one useful ability for only 20 levels then quit playing the job and stop complaining. I swear even if it was something kick ass you guys would still be bitching about it because "I always have to use it".

Finally got tired of Bludgeon...it just doesn't seem to put out on the ITs in Partys anymore. Feather Storm however, has taken up the place, and those 70-80 MBed Goblin Bombs are delicious.

I'm just thankful we(BLU) have bludgeon.

Just think about BLU with half-strength/no-bludgeon...
we took more damage (cause of slow kill) -> need rest more between fight (cause of multiple use of other spells to match bludgeon's damage)

Don't you guys just love to beat the heck out of T/EM mobs when you solo?

Well, I guess the complain that people state is the fact that from all the assortment of available blu spells, they have to spam one over and over again correct? I am sure that in future updates and patches SE might do something. If they dont, this will most probably lead into players skipping unnecesary spells and just learning the good ones. Then again, some of those ":usless" spells might be needed to get those special jot traits so who knows.... SE has always crazy ways of working..

Interestingly enough, it seems like Feather Storm delivers more consistent (and maybe more) damage over time than bludgeon on IT mobs at level 29-31 in Yhoator Jungle.

I was seeing bludgeon hit for ranges between 20 and 112-ish damage on IT mandy mobs in Yhoator Jungle. I used to use it a few times during a fight after slowing and lowering VIT on the mobs, but after seeing rounds that hit for like 22, 30 something, 40 something, and an occassional 90-100+, I tried Feather Storm. It seems like it consistently delivers 45-70-ish damage per shot unless it totally misses.

Most of my non-scientific observations were on Mandragora mobs and an occassional goblin at this point. I just wanted to see if maybe someone else got the same impression or whether they tried something else and actually parsed something.

What's the TP gain from Bludgeon? Because I've eatten many stray Screwdrivers (lvling PLD atm) cause of Bludgen spam ;;

Even though it is a 3-hitter, I didn't think we got TP for using it. I really hope I'm wrong. I never noticed getting TP for it because I never thought about it while I was watching everything else going on in PTs.

An example I can think of is when watching a BLU solo, when they spam Bludgeon, the monster does their special moves more often. I just wondered if anyone had a general idea. Hopefully, it'll be less of a problem as I level, but the dunes are so uncool to a Taru PLD cause of back-to-back Screwdrivers.

Bludgeon might add 30 TP per use, assuming the monster gains 10 TP per damage spell used upon it. This really makes me question how often Hysteric Barrage will be used (5 hit attack).

Still...when soloing it doesn't seem to make the monster more likely to use a WS

I don't think SE would allow you to give an enemy 30TP off of one move... I know they do some pretty screwed up stuff... but wtf is that?

I have more(just a little more though) faith in them than that.

I'm pretty sure Bludgeon does give a lot of TP. When 2 BLUs were in party semi-using Bludgeon, the raptors would be using chomp rush heck of a lot on the PLD. Good thing the PLD was so pimped out, it barely fazed her >.> Was the first time ever seeing a PLD opt for high evasion gear (Mithra in SH+1 with other high ticket goods)

How much tp do you get when Bludgeon hits you? It's probably similar.

It may give mobs tp similar to how we gain tp from multi-hit weaponskills. Perhaps 10tp of first hit, then 5~ on each of the two hits following. It'd give the mobs 20 tp or more on each bludgeon. Add that mob tp gain to the BLU's melee and anything else the party members are using and it should be close to the rate the raptors were using chop rush/frost breath.
