Is anyone else getting tired of spamming bludgeon?

I am so tired of this, after 12 levels I was really hoping to have another "attack" that doesn't totally bite. And from what I've heard, jet stream is also inferior. I am depressed

Yeah, I don't understand it. Of all 'cool' spells, why does Blugeon have to be the one that ends up... well... the strongest. Just got Jet Stream a while ago, and I know that bludgeon sucks against some mobs, and it could be viable to actually use jet stream on those, if it didn't cost 41mp... as opposed to bludgeon's 16mp.

I do agree in some aspects... yes Im tired of casting the same spell. But at the same time, you also have to look at the type of spell Bludgeon is, Arcana. There isnt alot of resistance to arcana at mid lvls... where as Jet Stream and Other spells are based on different types + elements. So... you have to think about it that way too. Also think about this... if you take Viper Bite and dont use SATA on it... it sucks. So, for BLUs Lv30+ try /thf and try Sneak Attack on it... you will have better damage... I promise. Try different routes and methods.

But yes... I agree Bludgeon is getting old.

Havent gotten Bludgen Yet, but good to hear that people do get tired of using it.

As I level I am going to try exploting the mob relations to list which spells are best in differnt situations as alternatives to Bludgen.

If anything I think this one spell might get nerfed alone, and the rest will remain as is.

I do admit that BLudgeon gets annoying, so i frequently use helldive/feather storm/power attack/head butt for a change, and 1-2 times per fight bludgeon lol

Just a tip btw, you guys would be surprised of the type of dmg vs mp cost power attack can do; while bludgeon can do 60ish vs IT+ in the jungle, power attack does 25-45 for a mere 5 mp O_o Try it out. (i did this in the jungle because of the weakness plantoids have vs power attack)

i havnt experenced that yet because i just got to useing it but i kill t mobs between partys and spam stun, sprout smack, stun, wild oats , stun, helldive (now bludgeon), and stun,cure if need or sleep if needed

Bludgeon isn't the only thing in a BLU bag of tricks, of course most BLU know this.

What I've been doing is, pull with Wild Oats, Sprout Smack, Head Butt, Bludgeon, Head Butt, Bludgeon.

Sometimes the stuns last awhile and saves me from taking hits or taking a spell to the face. Of course this is just a solo strategy, anyone tried a multi-BLU Head Butt-Stun chain? Kinda like a BLM Stun chain, except each BLU consecutively uses Head Butt to keep the mob stunned, or interrupt spells, the entire fight. It's low recast, low cost.

Pulling with Blastbomb is nice when the bind kicks in, but sometimes it lasts for about ten seconds and has you waiting at camp. ; ; Headbutt chainstun doesn't work, because it's not economical. You'll be resting a lot in between fights and lose chains.

I'm fine with Bludgeon.

well, there are better spells at higher lvls, bad breath, dimensional death, bomb toss, self destruct (kinda...), sickle slash etc
if its good, keep on using it, im tired of using rampage, but its good, so i keep on using it

Nope not in the least. I love using a move that removes a quarter of the monster's life with one cast. Just remember... Bludgeon only does the most damage if Dia and Wild Oats are kicked in first. Once you get Frightful Roar, toss that in as well. I'm sure some other BLU spells will be able to do the same damage eventually...but stuff like Screwdriver/Sickle Slash won't really until you critical them.
