Hmm, weird. What zone are you in? The rabbits only use Dust Cloud and Whirl Claws? It's possible that mobs under a certain level won't use a particular WS, or that mobs in different zones use a different WS list. I never paid that much attention before now.

LVL 4 BLU and I already had Pollen, Sandspin and Footkick. All I do is engage, punch a few times, turn around and footkick it til its almost dead and wait. As soon as they use a TP move, be it the one I wish to learn or not, I turn around and kill it.

Sandspin- learned 2nd time it was used on me
Footkick- learned 3rd time it was used on me
Pollen- learned 8th time a mob used it

Alright, I think I've got it down.
The reason you don't learn the spells is because you kill them too fast for the server to register what's going on. I've tried letting the mob use it, and then counting 5 seconds before killing it, and I've gotten every spell on the first kill.

This is wrong. When I learned footkick, the split second the mob used it i turned around and delivered the finishing blow.

Is learning the skill automatic like say, weapon skill ups? it just happens? or do you need to do smoething to say you want that skill?

It is automatic, however after learning it you have to "set" it before you can use it.

Anyway, like I said, latency issues.
Depends on your connection with the server, how many hundreds of people are leveling the same job as you in the same zone, etc...
I've tested it out, and it turns out the same all the time. Though it might not work for you, there's no saying that others experiencing the same problem as I won't find this to be the fix.

Setting a skill causes you to be unable to cast for roughly 1 minute. This only effects Blue Magic.

I currently know Sandspin and Sprout Smack. They make taking EMs much easier.

Well, seeing as how the information regaring mob attacks comes from server side I'm pretty sure they didn't lose the information regarding this due to latency issues.... Ever lag out for a full minute and come back to a flurry of attacks on you from whatever mob you were fighting?

I just seem to have a really low chance of learning the ability the enemy has a really low chance of using. This entire expansion has been frustrating since the beginning.

Yes, amazingly, something that's only been in existence for 12 hours has a beginning. It's a miracle of life! I've been fighting crabs for three hours now, only one in a hundred ever use Mettalic Skin, and I never learn it. Learning Queasyshroom is going ot be a bitch.

yes, i love how anything that takes some patience just automatically sucks nowadays.
