I was referring to the decline in skillchains in general. And you can't burst without a skillchain.

But even in a LS party, where they like to play around with chains, there's been no attempt to set up a burst, other than a Holy working a couple of times. I had to get Black Halo just so I would have a weapon skill compatible with their chains. (Apparently Hexa Strike is a pain to work into a chain.)

There are still a few people around who enjoy skillchaining, you just gotta ask.

It may help you out in some odd situation (maybe landing sleep on a hard to sleep BC mob or something.)
I used to MB Paralyze a bit, since Distortion was (and still is) the most common SC people do, and before Ice Staff it can be a bit of a trial to land, camp/level depending.

Probably wouldn't ever want to MB Sleep, since people are hitting the critter... But, MB'ing Paralyze and Slow may be worthwhile, and a Kurayami: Ni MB can't hurt, if the LS I'm in ever use NIN in Sky/Sea again.

That reminds me, I should ask for Darkness SC on next Byakko at the beginning of the fight for MB'ing Slow II, instead of letting LS keep resorting to BLM ES Slow. (Landing rate for Slow II seems to be below 20% on my RDM/WHM.)

This is why I am glad I am presently only levelling with some LS mates, between a pld drk and blu we were hitting 3 MBs on my self-Fusion.

It's nice to hear you have a sky that is willing to possibly set up a SC.

My sky ls leader said to me once (after I asked him why we don't set up Light/Darkness skillchains on Gods), "Everyone gets confused and f*ks it up so much, that I can't get the dumdums to follow directions. People don't understand the concept of skillchaining so we threw it out."

Granted, my sky ls is fun, but people in general in there really don't seem to understand the concept of skillchaining because most are just on their 1st LV75 job. (Which means more than likely, they are from the generation of the lolibri/TP burn syndrome.)

            lol

You'd think that skillchaining on at least Kirin would be a good idea. Letting 6x BLM burst Tornado 2 off of Deton or Frag is a beautiful thing. (Of course, it's not like the BLM understand the concept of timed nuking anyway, so throw the whole argument out of the window and get me a vodka and redbull and call it an evening.)

              Tsk tsk tsk.

I tried leveling my blm sub past 37 after ToAU; I got so depressed I just quit. Getting told "lul MB is worthless in Crawler's Nest" starts to fuck with your brain.

My user title shows my attitude towards ToA.

My Sky LS always sets up a Light SC for our BLMs to burst off of when landing Burst II on the sucker =P

But yeah, I miss the days of SC + MB = Mob pwnage *sniff* those were the good ol' days /sigh
