New Black mage..need help

ok, well, im new to the game, and, im a lvl 7 BLM, and i just need some tips for soloing, and all that shit, like, i have the robes...and the spells...my spells are, as i can recall

stone, water, blind, bind,poison, and maybe something else, but i cant remember, but...just, can you give me some good tips for being a good BLM?soloing, and in parties?

2. The Black Mage Index. (There are several solo guides linked there, though they really don't apply to such low levels.)

At Lv.7, your main solo strategy is Bind first, get as far as possible but still able to cast spell on the monster, then nuke hard and fast. Possibly also need to use your staff to finish off the critter as it comes charging at you, so engage (/attack on) before Bind/nuke.

At Lv.10+, when you are in exp parties, DO NOT start off battles with big nukes. >_>; Instead, use a Poison or something at the start of the battle or just rest for MP until mid battle. Remember the monsters turn nasty near the end of their HP bar, so save MP to finish them off fast near the end of the battle.

Also, DO NOT cast Bio over Dia. You would just be prolonging the fight for no good reason under most circumstances.

Also, remember that worms are always a great target for you. Because they can't run up and smack you (although they can cast spells, so keep that in mind - of course, you can run away if you start to get low on health, and they can't chase you).
