  • Why are there so many Black Mages that don't know about search comments?

When I'm duoing with my BLM friend, we go to camp thinking it is not taken after searching and nobody has any search comment up.

We then go there to find someone is already there.

    Also...

When my friend and I are duoing, I put my search comment up saying where I am and what I'm fighting, but still people come.

My Black mage is level 67! How is it at this level people don't know about the search function? And its usually higher level Black Mages soloing so it is higher than 67. Usually 73 or so.

I don't think it's really common for people to use search comment to tell camping spots. Some did it with sky camp back in the days, but other than that I really don't think it's common at all.

If it was common or people even searched where they went to camp there wouldnt be over crowding in ToAU areas.

Sure there would be, people would rather camp on top of someone else than get a unique camp.

Unless you start reserving EXP areas ala Ballista/Brenner, people aren't going to care about what other people are doing.

What's been said so far is right, Susurrus. The most you'll ever get out of a party leader is checking the number of people at their level in a particular zone. Only a select few would bother looking at search comments for that purpose and I have never seen anyone who does. Search comments just aren't generally used to determine camps. Hell, they're hardly used for choosing party members. When I've made parties I myself have never looked at search comments in a zone to determine if it was okay to go there. So you should pretty much expect your search comment to have zero to no effect whatsoever on a party's camp choice. Sorries

What's this "search comment" you speak of. I just see something and invite it if I can

I personally have never used my search comment to say what I am fighting/soloing w/e. Ill use them if im looking for something, if I am lfg. But thats about it.

Thinking of blm search comments though. I always consider that if I see another blm in the zone they are probably soloing what I intend to solo, so I fgure if there are too many blms Ill just go somewhere else. You could always /tell someone and ask.
