  • Your BLM solo/duo experiences?

I took a loooong break from FFXI after I got redundantly bored of the grind in it(only logging on to check chocobo or very rarely do some event or mission), but now I'm finally bored of my other games and plan on leveling to 70 or beyond again. Currently I am 67 and at this level, EXP parties don't seem to be working for me. I know duoing Quqirn Archeologists is good EXP for a BLM duo till 70, but anyone have any good solo/other duo spots?

    Two words: Mount Zhalym.

Just get to level 70, and you'll be able to join some of the best parties you'll ever experience in FFXI.

At Mount Zhalym, there are walourma princes and ebony puddings. Puddings are very popular for manaburn parties, due to the fact that they're extremely weak to magic.

Example of how good parties are? Just last night, I made 20k xp in 2 hours just in a manaburn off puddings. We were consistenly roaming doing chain 11 off puddings and I was making about 200xp off each one. Suffice to say, we were having a difficult time finding puddings because we were too damn fast.

So yeah...just get a few more levels, however you can, and you'll be able to solo the princes(assuming you have a rdm sub) or create some great burns off puddings.

I was solo'n the Quirin (ranged ones) by the BLU quest pool - easy xp to 68ish I would think (currently 66 and when i get a chance I head there to solo) not sure where I would go after that tho, so any suggestions on solo/duo sites would be helpfull for me also!!

I duoed with a level 75 blm on princes at level 68 and got around 300-400 xp per kill with empress band and sanction. This place is level 68+ friendly, and while maybe you won't be able to solo here (I've never tried), it's a very popular duoing spot.

              Re: Your BLM solo/duo experiences?

kk so duo 68+ I would be fine there, now just to find another blm my level, maybe even a brd in my ls would be good. I just hate waiting for people to log in lately with ffxii - thats why I was looking for solo spots too.

Edit: I found this info on Qiqirn - they seem like they would be good xp for awhile w/these level ranges.

All Ranger Type Mobs--These mobs are perfect for BLM duoing or soloing.

They stay at a safe distance and thier ranged attack doesnt interrupt spells.

              Enterprisers--65-68
              Archeologists--68-72
              Trailers--72-75

Do you know how to get to the Hydra area?

It is basically that passageway heading to Hydra in the Subterrane.

Head for entrance 8 here http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/maps/wajao...lands/general/

On the third map (funnily enough, where entrance 8 is) of http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/maps/aydee...rrane/general/ , along that corridor, are a number of archaologists. There are two where you zone in, sneak past the slime molds, and there are three more. Plenty for soloing!
