INT/MND Clubs until level 51, at that point you should start looking to the elemental staffs (which cannot be used until level 51 to start with).

I'll let someone else elaborate to why you should do this, but that is the basic guideline for any BLM.

Wands +int adds small amounts per int to your damage and helps your casts from resisting.

Elemental Staves add a percentage damage increase and less resist rates as long as you are casting a simialar element to the staff. You will want to get all of the staves, even the light one for casting cures. Macro your staves so you don't have to scurry through your equipment all madly trying to get your right staff on for whatever spell you want to cast. All of a sudden black maging just gets more fun from there.

It depends on what you are doing with them, if you are gonna melee then staves.

If you are gonna cast magic then wands until you get the elemental staves.

Just in case you do not know this yet. The elemental staves give a 10% hidden damage and accuracy bonus to all spells and skills of the matching element. (and a panelty for the element weak to them) The HQ staves give 15%.


No INT+ wands will ever come close to this. IMO, the 8 staves is the most important part of a BLM's gear collection from 51 to 75.



Before 51 though, you are pretty much stuck with INT wands.
