      I don't fight shadow dragons in Xcarbard anymore for exactly that reason.

      Irisjir hits the Shadow Dragon for 58 points of damage.
      The shadow dragon's spikes drain 200 life from Irisjir.

      I was winning up till it used that move, too. I mean I had it down to a sliver of life. ANd I wasn't wearing any darkness down gear.

        Is there, or will there be a dark AM blm spell? I know there's Flare, Freeze, Tornado, Quake, Burst, Flood, and Holy......but I can't figure out what the dark AM is, if there is one.

          well, true holy isnt really an AM, but there isnt a Reverse to it is there. . . They should add one >.>

            Yeah, Tenzen gets Cosmic Eludication, which is a lv 4 SC. Also there are Untima and Omega weapons in the game, as monsters. I always though it would be cool if we did get some new spells... a dark AM would be nice, thouhg I don't have a name... vortex? And I would love to see BLM get Rockseal, since WHM get Stona.

                  the way i see it is there are several cycles of spells, some go through six elements some go through two, some 8.

                  enspells only have six

                  there are six elemental debuffs although dia and bio could be said to make 8

                  theres bar- spells and -na spells (and erase) (but i couldn't tell you them all i'm only level 12 whm ^^)

                  ancient magic is in six

                  normal elemental nukes are in six or 8 if you count drain and banish

                  the odd cycle in my eyes is status debuffs we get bind (ice) silence, gravity(wind) Paralysis, slow (earth) stun (lightning) poison (water) but we don't get disease in any form. Light is absent here but dark gets loads (blind, sleep, dispel) think of it as what dark does best.

                  i deffinatly see a cycle of buffs in the 3 spikes and 3 sheilds (SS, AV, Blink) i'd say light chimes in with phalanx. Dark is absent. but if you count protect and shell here (and perhaps reraise, regen and refresh) it becomes clear light does buffing well.

                    BRD's lullaby and Finale are light based. Flash is also light.
