Shaman's Cloak vs. AF Body

Cannot Equip Headgear, MP +25, Intelligence +4, Enfeebling Magic Skill +5, Elemental Magic Skill +5

AF
MP +16, Vitality +5, Enfeebling Magic Skill +10, Enmity -3


So, with AF, I'll lose 4 INT (I'm an INT whore), 9 mp and 5 elemental magic skill. Instead, I'll get +5 VIT (big woop...), +5 enfeebling magic skill and -3 enmity, plus the ability to wear a hat.

One of my BLM75 friends swears by the BLM coat until the 70's, one says the justacorps is better and likes the shaman's cloak. So, what do you guys think? What do 60+ BLMs tend to wear?

However, if you wanted to wear something other than the BLM AF hat, what would you wear?

AF Hat is the best hat until 70 or so, or so I hear.

AF Hat : 4 Int (Makes up for the Int on the cloak), +25 MP (More than makes up), and -4 Enmity.

Personally I'd go with AF Hat and Body > Shaman.

Also, if you usea Justaucorps instead of AF Body for nukes, there's 2 more Int.

I like living so the -enmity on the AF is nice. It's probably also nice on the tanks in my parties when I'm BLM. The +Enfeebling can also be handy if you don't have a RDM in your party to help Sleep stick. Now I did answer your body piece question if you were only looking at the Shamans cloak or your AF body, since you couldn't equip your hat if you used the Shamans.

So I would have to say I agree with your friend, use your AF until either the Black Cloak at 68 or until the weskit at 73. You're going to want all 5 AF pieces anyway so you can store it if you do either level capped stuff or level another job. Oh, and probably might want to start saving for the weskit now.

I believe most go AF -> Black Cloak -> Weskit

For headgear, I don't think I'd use anything other then the AF hat until 73 when there's the Igqira Tiara or the Demon Helm.

For me, I'd go with AF hat and Justaucorp over the shamans cloak.

All BLM AF is situational

AF Body for enfeebles
AF feet for drain/aspir
AF hands for Hi-resist Mobs
AF Hat for nuking. I use AF hat at 75 INT+4/MP+25 Yes please

Shamans cloak is good til Black Cloak then switch to Igqira Weskit for Nuking..
