    Re: I love you BLMs...

If seconds are allowed, I'll step in on Aelathir's behalf... rdm/nin or drk, do you need it??

Anyway. Sometimes crap happens, and you have to abandon computer. What does it take to try and get someone to safety? Generally about 5 minutes work. That isn't really going to put a crimp in things. The problem is that you seem to be unwilling to accept this, which frankly is a naive and totally selfish point of view. Your xp > everyone elses. Well, if you are in a party, there are 6 of you getting xp, not just one.

There is an old saying - "Render unto others as they would unto you". Basically - Karma's a bitch.

      Saying this is completely irrelevant.....

      as I already said this....

I have fallen asleep 2 times, neither in XP PT. If I woke up and found myself dead then I would have no problem with that, just so you know I do not have double-standards.
I think you should read the rest of the thread before posting next time...

The OP posted that the PLD fell asleep during mid-chain and they discovered this after the fishman had pulled... Without the great efforts on this occasion of the rest of PT members the PT could very well have wiped (re-read OP post if in doubt, ref paralysis, etc). So in answer to "what does it take to try and get someone to safety". I would put their safety very low on the agenda.

Your xp > everyone elses. Well, if you are in a party, there are 6 of you getting xp, not just one.
I am putting the 5 members PT experience ahead of the the 1 member who didnt have the courtesy to say {i'm sleepy}. The PT is a collective that relies on each persons reliabilty, if one person fails why put them ahead of the team-players?

Dont make assumptions, we know what they do!! (I'm sure you can regurgitate the cliche!!)

maybe its was illustrating a parralel or irrelevance between my not possessing a modicum of common sense based upon differing points of views and between the also irrelevant uncapped ballista, with a tinge of dry humor & a metaphorical slap.

It looked like you were saying "I believe I am a better ballista player and we all known 'might makes right'."

We knew because repeated attemps at <call> while the MNK kited a bit (I think I'm being a bit un-dramatic by stating that, maybe more like hate swapping between Cure III/IV spam between me and the other RDM)

Now, someone mentioned (Or maybe more than one person) that we could've burned it.

                (1) We were in the middle of an exp chain.
                (2) MP was being brought up, it was definitely not full all around.
                (3) Both RDMs just converted.
                (4) MNK was the puller and was hemorraghing HP in an alarming manner. Anyone who pulls raptors there, Kuftal and in Cape Terrigan/Valley of Sorrows can attest to this.
                (5) We did not know PLD was asleep. AFK was a strong possibility. 30s was long enough to stall for the PLD. It was then determined that sleep was a stronger likelihood (Or maybe this player suffered a stroke, seizure or something)

At this stage, we've burned MP at stalling. BLMs are 2/3 down their pools, both RDMs are beyond kiting condition. I'm hemorraghing HP and so is the taru RDM. At this point, I make it clear that after the first RDM goes down, I was going to give a bit of time for the BLMs to save themselves. Of course I ended up dying, but the BLMs manage to get sleep to stick after Bio finally wore.

At this point, neither of the two BLMs (One NA, the other JP) wanted to "bail." "Ditching was not an option, no matter how adamant our kitty MNK was with regards to that (Pretty much begging the two BLMs to save their skins) This is where experience came in and the JP BLM had a lot of experience, this being one of many 60+ jobs.

Taking turns putting the raptor to sleep, regaining MP while the MNK continuously spammed provoke, built up boost and chi blasted when raptor awoke. This went on while the 2 RDMs got raised. Then the both of us kept the BLMs refreshed while we decided on what we were going to do.

We decided that the party would be disbanded. The first player to be safely D2'd was our PLD. Then the MNK. I buffed up and so did the other RDM (We're still in weakened condition) and got ready to cast sleep at a moment's notice (Both of us were subbing WHMs btw)

Anyway, both RDMs were D2'd off after another round of sleep and then the JP BLM made the NA BLM warp off. Then the JP BLM warped off when all was set.

As for whether or not the PLD deserved a death as punishment, I can safely say, it's better not to be an ass and assume things. On Hades, 5 seconds of kindness can be the difference between making friends for life and damning yourself eternally.
