Well, BLM is getting boring, and isn't to fun anymore. Because of Aht Urgan and it's monsters, I can never get a party anymore, and when they do, I often lose more EXP then I gain. I was thinking about taking up a second/new job to lighten the load a little bit... And I'm asking for suggestions. I know this probably shouldn't be in the BLM fourms, but I want a job that other BLMs find fun and exciting, because I probably will to.

You seem to want a party, but judging by your past experience as a Blm you want to deal damage.

Is that right? Is there anything else you like doing? Meleeing? Casting? Healing? Buffing?

Yup...I havn't leveled BLM in forever (like 1.5 months). I've been leveling BLU - best of both worlds - a spellcaster that can actually melee...no offense RDM's. You get to self-SC then MB on it yourself. If that isn't a BLM dream I dont know what is...

Ya my buffer is getting dangerously low on my blm and I don't want to de-lvl but getting a pt is like pulling teeth. Rdm oh heck ya they want you and even whm I can eek out a pt here and there but blm....pfft....not a single bite.

I don't enjoy playing BLM in ToA so much either. Imps and sea puks are especially boring... Mamook isn't bad.

If you ever get into Trolls PT on Mt Zayolm however you spell it, these guys give 150-200 a pop so it's a lot more closer to original way we play. It's pretty fun fighting them as BLM. I've been there with 2 PTs out of 100s I've join :D

Hmm... Well, yes, I was thinking about BLU, but I just don't like the job to much from what I have played. I don't mind healing that much, though I'd rather not, but I dislike support(such as BRD, RDM and COR)...

What about SAM? their WS seem kinda BLMish... elemntal based and all... I would do DRK but the job attracts to many morons >.>

another plus of SAM is I don't have to level NIN!(I hate blink tanking, but don'tmind regular tanking...)

I'm having a lot of fun with Warrior. Been a blast 60-65. I've spent far more money on my war than my Blm+Rdm tho ._.
Levelling Rdm and Blm I spent so little money that my gil slowly built up.... as I reached 75Blm I had quite a lot.
Levelling War, I spent the gil I collected the entire year on gears >.>

With a lvl 60 blm you already have something very nice going on there. Blm is one of the most powerfull jobs in the game. They can kill anynting that can sleep and take gravity several lvls above your own. You have yet to unlock your characters blm potential. Once you get to lvl 65 you are able to join end-game linkshells and will be opened up to a world of connections of people who are doing varied stuff thats fun. Almost every endgame activity needs a blm. All blms are rooted on to lvl up as quik as possible so you will be enjoyed as long as you play your job decently. The only down side to blm is that you can't really lvl your weapons as using them are not required for ownage. Macros make the job more fun, explore that.

By lvling up your pally you can lvl up your staff, and club. These are two weapons that are good for a blm to have lvled and by lvling pally this can be done easily. It is a misconception that pallies have it crappy endgame. Pallies concentrate the teams damage onto themselves thus making the main healers job much easier. If a whm is caught wanting a ninja so they dont have to heal much they should be fired and stop playing that job imo.

If you like dealing damage and don't want to tank at all then you might enjoy thf. Thf is a good job if you already have blm lvled cuz both blm and thf use dagger class weapons. Lvling dagger class is beneficial to your blm job. Thfs deal incredible early game damage and are tons of fun. Remember to load up on dex and bloody bolts.

The 3 new jobs all rock and you should try each one till lvl 10 just to see how they are.
Actually you should try all jobs to lvl 10, you will understand what you want for sure after that and it probably won't take long to accomplish this goal, its easy and fun. I did this in short time palying sporadically off of a handfull of nice lvl 1-10 gear that I shared btwn jobs.

Ultimatelly you can have fun with any job in game just keep in mind that most jobs are unlike blm and whm where you have to pay close attention to what you are doing. Especially when you have to time sc all the time. Keep in mind that most melee jobs require much more attention when partying while blm only have to cast at the appropriate times.

There's a fair number of manaburn camps in ToAU, some of them are manaburn-exclusive. You just have to find the right camps and go there - I'm hearing good things about a few places in Mt. Zhayolm, and I know for a fact that there's a 10K/hr manaburn camp in Caedarva Mire for 73+ BLMs (since I've been there).

My BLM is 66 currently. And so far, I can't get a party on it. From the looks of it, I've passed the Magmatic Eruca stage, meaning there's nothing I know of currently in ToAU that I can XP off of. Bibiki and the Boyahda tree seem to be the only viable places to level right now, and nobody goes there anymore. Everyone wants their Walahra turbans, and are XPing left and right at 75, getting merit points, etc.

67-75 about 9/10 of my PT went to imps. I was 90% healing in those PT. Can only get like 1 nuke every 3-4 fights. 2 nukes a fight and im calling aggro. Every PT were killing so fast they actually don't need my nukes at all actually... I'm there for silena and curaga mostly.

I manaburn once on skeletons in the reef. Got around 9k/hour. It's a nice change. It's a lot better than imp/puks and Im not overly busy too.

Not sure what are burn choices for 66-70. Any idea?

Yeah, thats the problem. It's WONDERFUL 65+... but I am STUCK at 61, I can't even get 1k EXP a day... unless I can solo somewhere?
