Where can I find more specific mage hats... like what would be a good one for like a9

I started in the small peoples town and I remain there now... so my question is where can I find some good hats / helmets? As I see nothing in my towns armory (in terms of hat related)

Yes I am a noob, just throwing it out there...

I've pretty much been just running around killing stuff leveling up and not really doing any quests because I am by myself and my ability to remember odd names is not too good... so constantly refering to names etc to find my way around is cumbersome.

Anyway, yah...

for anything not sold in the stores, go to the Auction House. If you are starting out as mage, the best piece of headgear you can wear (for now) are hairpins which give +MP.

Depending on which mage job you choose (RDM, WHM, BLM) there are hats available between levels 10 and 20 that can give you boosts in INT and MND. These stats at lower level in my opinion are much better then MP because it is possible to manage MP while at the same time recieve huge bonuses from these stat bonuses. One INT or MND when you only have 20 of each is a much bigger boost at low level then the same amount at level 60 when you have closer to 40-50.

You can buy hairpins at the goldsmithing guild in Bastok from NPC. Hairpins are best low level mage head pieces imo.
