I apologize if this is the wrong forum, but I don't really know where else to put it. Okay. Here it goes.

I'm aware that Scroll of Stonega II drops from a certain NM, but that NM is a bit too high-levelled for a lvl 41 BLM, such as myself, who wants to complete his spell-list. So, is there a quest to get this, or am I just gonna have to dish out 46k to buy it off the Auction House?

Actually for you, the best thing I could think of would be to find a couple of higher level friends if you have any and camp the shaman cloak in Quicksand caves. You could make use of the cloak as a black mage and the NM drops various earth based spells including stoneIII, stonegaII, and quake. I hear stonegaII is mainly used by blackmages who do bcnm40 under observation.

75blm. have all spells except stonega2. It's not useful enough for it's cost... I never have it, I don't plan to have it, and I can't think of any situation at all that I wanted to use it.

MB stone only once VS Torama which isn't somewhere you'd want to go anyway now that we have ToA.

I just got to 45 Blm and I do not have this spell because, on the Asura server it goes for 800k + in the AH. Funny that I was able to get aeroga II and waterga II for around 30k apiece.

No one ever does Scission, hardly anyone uses Gravitation, plus it's AoE.

By the time you run into the one SINGLE enemy type you might want to use it on (Torama), you have access to Stone III, which is more MP efficient and deals remarkably similar damage. And as mentioned above, who levels on Torama anymore when there's ToAU? :/

Im 75 and im saddened to say i dont have this spell. I couldnt afford it at the time, and got past the level of "requiring it". i mean that by i got stone3 and Stonega3 and forgot all about Stonega2. You never need it, Aoe for crap damage when theres better spells, even tier 2 spells at the time are better if i recall.

if you go for X-I make sure to have high lv help ^.^ He manafronts, making all of his spells unstopable (acient magic, -ga spells, etc). Also there are 5 or 6 high lv ants that will aggro (sound) and link with X-I.

I got my cloak 1/30, and a few stonega II's off him... no quake tho. However I used my BST, and I kept the room clear so no links. He pops every 2-4 hours, and the place holders are signafiers (sp?). So after a while he'll pop instead of a signafier.

Yeah he's nasty.. I tried killing him solo as a WHM75/NIN31 and almost died - thankfully one of my ls mates showed up. Stun effects work VERY well against him, which is part of the reason I brought a NIN sub for dual-wield clubs and Brainshaker.

I've pretty much got the timing down on him - 2 hour timer, with placeholders (Signifiers) popping every 15 mins. Maybe I'll try again when I get my NIN to 37 or get some help.

It's 600k on my server and i haven't bought it cus it's waste of gil I'll never use it only with the BCNM40 Under observation

I've used it a grand total of one time to magic burst in Quicksand Caves in the 40s. Someone commented how impressed he was with the damage, but then life went on and I don't think I ever used that spell again.

It's nice to have, but nowhere near necessary (sort of like having all the BRD songs are nice to have, but you'll probably never use many of them).
