Scroll of Stonega II

I apologize if this is the wrong forum, but I don't really know where else to put it. Okay. Here it goes.

I'm aware that Scroll of Stonega II drops from a certain NM, but that NM is a bit too high-levelled for a lvl 41 BLM, such as myself, who wants to complete his spell-list. So, is there a quest to get this, or am I just gonna have to dish out 46k to buy it off the Auction House?

As far as i know there isn't any quests or npcs to get it from.

It's over 250k last time I checked on Bismarck. When I first leveled BLM, an hour or two of farming bees would pay for all my spells excepting Ancient Magic. I just relaxed when I farmed and chatted up a storm in LS. :D

stonega 2 isn't an essential spell. once you get stone 3, you'll never need it.

personally, i never got stonega 2 and after i got stone 3, i never saw a need to get stonega 2.

don't worry, though, you won't have that problem with stonega 3 as it is either a sky drop or an antican drop. i don't remember which but it's plentiful

Did you not use Stonega II because of AoE issues with the places you level at? For example, I'm guessing that mid-30s leveling and 40s will be in places like CN, so AoE is totally out of the question. But I figure if you're in Quicksands in the 40s, then ... Stonega II would be stronger or as strong as Stone III, no?

I can't say this'll be the same with Stonega II and Stone III, but I noticed when camping NMs that Fire II actually did slightly more damage than Firaga, so, logically, Stone III should be slightly more powerful than Stonega II. Or so I'm guessing.

I made it a personal point to get stonega II, and I'm glad I did. lucky for me it was only around 80-90k, but when I was that lv it seemed like a awful lot. I really get a kick out of using it in lv40 capped areas. <.< of course I have gotten a little worked up when finding that other lv75's don't have it.

Considering that most stone spells aren't used very often & not many xp mobs are weak to stone, it shouldn't be worth your money.
On Ramuh it is 250-300k. Maybe I'll buy it when I have plenty of gil to spare, but I still need to get my HQ staves, ect ect.

I'm 56 atm, I'm planning on camping the NM for the Shaman Robe and hoping it drops then (and Quake). I've had the claim twice so far. Once a few months ago when I died because I got silenced and didn't have any echo drops on me. Then once a few days ago when the mob turned yellow when I tried to pull it into the tunnel to avoid links and a JP RDM stole it from me.

When you get a chance look up Aero IV or Water IV... ah yes over 1 mil for two stupid spells ^.^

As for Stonega II honestly I've only used mine one time while farming. All of our stone spells are kind of a let down... I MB'd with stone IV for like 800 or something... a IV spell. Not many parties will do a SC other than fusion, distortion, light, or dark.

IMO there are other spells more important (all are a must) but concentrait on the MB helping ones 1st...then farm for lesser spells.

if you go for X-I make sure to have high lv help ^.^ He manafronts, making all of his spells unstopable (acient magic, -ga spells, etc). Also there are 5 or 6 high lv ants that will aggro (sound) and link with X-I.

I got my cloak 1/30, and a few stonega II's off him... no quake tho. However I used my BST, and I kept the room clear so no links. He pops every 2-4 hours, and the place holders are signafiers (sp?). So after a while he'll pop instead of a signafier.
