there's also a random glitch where if you cure someone or cast like poisona it will say "Cover! that person is no longer poisoned" or some shit like that.. I've seen that when there isnt even a PLD in the pt...

There also is a glitch that happens on occasion, where a "Resist!" will pop up for no apparent reason.

Alauna starts casting Cure III on Fishura.
Alauna casts Cure III.
Resist! Fishura resists the effects of the spell.

It also goes something like this sometimes...when a PC does something right after an NPC

The Goblin _____ casts Poison on (Person1).
Resist! (Person2) begins to cast Thundaga III on the Goblin _____.

Just a bug that SE is too lazy to fix apparently, I'm sure they have tons of reports on it because it happens rather frequently and its been around for a while now...

thats strange ive never seen the 'resist' thing pop up except for certain debuffs because of the monster's job traits (ie when casting silence.. Resist! <random bard monster> resists the spell!) but never in the random places you seem to be sugesting..

I see it quite frequently, I'll take a screenshot next time I see it and post it up here. It looks exactly like the Cover! bug except that it says Resist! instead in the beginning of the line of text.

Yeah, I'm with pooq on that....I've not seen these oddly placed resists or covers. I don't doubt their validity though since I have seen a strange occurence of skelectons having something that similar effect happen to them.

I have seen those oddly placed covers... I was in my static manaburn just getting some exp before I went to do kirin, and we kept seeing cover... Now my manaburn is made up of 5blm and a brd... so there is no way in hell anyone is going to be covering anyone... They happen everyonce in a while... We just laugh it off, and keep going, next time we see one, we will grab a pic of it, and the party.

hmmm, in my time as war/thf, I saw a lot of times (especially in CN with too many people around) where my Fragmentation chain wouldn't show up but MBs still landed. Sometimes it wouldn't be on anyone's screens, sometimes some members would see it and just not me. Sometimes I'd see the animation of it and sometimes I wouldn't (rather normal, lag considered). I did do a great deal of equip changing so DakkoN's theory really seems to be the most accurate. I wouldn't mind a bug like this (as I don't mind the resist and cover and "is intimidated by" bugs) except that SC closers get so much out of equip changes that this becomes very irritating. ><
