    Wasnt it presumed the rng nerf was to hurt arrow burn parties? But the nerf ended up hurting rng's in virtually all instances? (I'm not turning this into a poor poor rng thread, so just hold on everybody) It would seem SE is going to take the easy way out again and just bring everyone down to the same lvl rather than try and help other jobs. I dont suppose they'll be happy until every job is only doing 1-2 points of dmg with every attack and it takes half an hour to kill an easy prey mob.
    What I dont understand is that I never heard of anyone complaining about manaburn parties and not getting invites etc. b/c there were blm's lfg. I had always kinda figured other melee's complaing was in part responsible for the rng and ninja nerf(s). I hope they dont blm's usefulness in normal pt setups, but with SE's track record it doesnt look too hopeful. Good luck guys, I hope it doesnt go too badly for you.

      The ultimate nerf would be making a BLM hit for the same amount as a RDM. ;.;

        This should go great with the update to some HNMs where they get much stronger the longer you're fighting them.

          If anything, I'm guessing that a BLM nerf would be something like mobs gaining temporary resistance (and eventual temporary immunity) to a certain element if you "overuse" it on them. Just like the kiting nerf that they imposed a while back...mobs gaining temporary immunity to Gravity if they're getting hit with it a lot.

            Exactly. Or just the reverse of that. The mob starts with a High Elem. Magic Resistance, and needs to be "worn down" before the "real" damage starts. Kinda like warming up a mob.

            That would "nerf" manaburns, as there would be no way to wear the mob down, before the BLM's nuke. Gaining resistance over time wouldnt stop manaburns. They would just move down to more VT's , because 1 round of nukes can kill it.

            All in all, im not too worried about BLM.

              Or... mobs could gain magic defense if they are hit by several nukes in a small amount of time. This way, manaburns are slowed down because 4-6 nukes hitting all at once makes the mob have huge magic defense. But BLMs in normal parties aren't hurt unless they spam their nukes constantly.

              First they'll nerf BLM, then nerf SMN, leaving us with few options for HNM DDs...

                    Re: oh yay! we're next

                    From what I've seen summoners are rarely invited to parties. They're very useful for the melee though, because most of their avatar buffs are melee related. Hastega, Blinkga, Warcry, Enthunderga, etc. Stoneskinga may not last long, but it's still very useful.

                      SMN post 70 is really powerful. But I really don't mind them, they have to go through 70 levels of hell to get there...

                        Re: oh yay! we're next

                        I never understood all the hatred towards summoners pre-70. Yes, w/o all the avatars they are pretty well useless, but I've always found them to be huge assets to the party. Blinkga and stoneskinga for the tank, Fenrir's lunar cry for just about any DD, melee or otherwise. More mp and and the refresh trait make them nearly as good healers as a whm, and in certain instances, better.

                        In the interview they said they had previously tried nerfing blm's but the players found ways around them. How have they tried nerfing them in the past?
