Well.. My main is WHM, and when i have to levle BLM (someday) i want to make the best of it.. what do i do? use food? have up-to-date-spells/equip ( i will most-likely be nakey till level 11(switch to doublet from WHM) as a sub. should i take it to level 15 (to get ot levle 30) or levle 18 (fully levled sub a little bit passed tele)

PS: i have never been a hume BLM, or any type of BLM for that matter >.<

Thanks for noticing!! ^^ i forgot i was going to be nakey till level 12 (robe set) not 11 (doublet) which i will have the main body peice for both and random legs/feet/head/neck sets

You're asking for death playing nakey mage, especially for your first two or three levels in Dunes - you'll be pulling hate away from the tank and dying in 1 hit with no armor.

Stop being a tightarse and buy some armor, you can always sell it back a couple of days later for the same price you bought it for.

Food wise, definately Pineapple Juices & pies if you are rich for your level for MP+ and MP regen.

Can I also say that I completely disagree with your sig, race is very important when choosing a class to play. If you want to be the best WHM or WAR or whatever, then you have to plan your race accordingly or you're going to be gimped.

I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you here. Literally no race/class combination in the game is gimped - provided they have proper gear and a good person behind them. Once you get into the upper levels, more and more gear becomes available to make jobs better and better. These peices of gear serve to make the difference between the "best" and "worst" races slimmer and slimmer. By lv75, the difference between a Taru Warrior and an Elvaan Warrior might be 20 damage on weapon skills....which is really nothing to cry about. Same goes for Elvaan BLM and Taru BLM - on MB's, the Taru might end up being 10-30 damage higher (depending how much the Elvaan was compensating for MP), but when you consider that the burst is for 1600+ damage, that 10-30 damage is just a small portion of it.

I'm also gonna have to agree to disagree, it doesnt really matter what race you chose later in the game, any race can play any job with success as long as you have the gil/gear.

I chose mithra because i wanted to be a ranger, leveled rng to 40 before i figured out i hate pulling so now ima blm.

as to your question guy.

You cant level blm or wht naked, the only job ive seen that has been able to get away with being naked for any amount of time is mnk, and that guy had the best weapon and rings, just no armor.

a stack of fire crystals is enough to get you level 10 armor for your blm, just buy some armor and call it a day.


oh and if your poor, switch jobs, blm is one of the more exspensive jobs to start the game as.

I am not poor. well. i will use armor. the level 1 gear till the levlel 12 gear (robe sets). All i want is to get BLM to 18 (for sub). I will use the same stuff for my BLM as i did for my WHM (ill sell all the level 12 and lower gear once i get BLM and WHM to 20+)

I took WHM to 12 nakey as a taru.. NO CLOTHES. nothing. all i had was my staff (leg.) and i used DEF+ stuff (till 12) then i used MP+ and refreshing items till 18. then i quit Odin


i didn't mean nakey.. i meant with levle 1 gear. till level 12 (i might use tunic.. but that will hurt my MP[ hairpins ])

hrmm, if you like wht mage so much why dont you sub red, i mean i saw a wht/red helping my d=friend in davoi getting his AF3 (i just tagged along) and he could not just erase and heal, but he was dispelling and erasing, and stonekin phallanx the whole nine yards minus refresh.


just wondering why 100% of the wht mages i've seen ebsides the high level ones sub blm.

FYI my blm is lvl 50 i now have both wht and red subs avbailable to me

Well only reason I know that people sub BLM is for Conserve MP. Thats one of the job traits that actually activates pretty frequently. That and adding out of /BLM and /RDM the /BLM will give you a little more MP, so it is possible to get a few extra spells done.

But with /RDM you do get to use Dispel and Phalanx. Stoneskin and the rest you mentioned WHM gets anyways. Honestly either one seems fine for a WHM to be using. Or even subbing /SMN for an even larger MP boost along with an auto regen once you are 50/25 with WHM/SMN. With the reverse it's pretty good too at 50/25 of SMN/WHM you have auto Refresh/Regen and can do attack and heal pretty well.

No, he is asking for help. You are being quite dumb for not expecting that in a thread named "please help..". I swore calling someone a retard got you some warning points... hmmmm.

Anyway, armor isn't a big deal 10-14 if you are fighting the right monsters, like worms... namely Maze Makers in Maze of Shakarami(sorry if I mispelled). Maze of Shakarami(once again, pardon me) is a better exp spot than Valkrum Dunes to at least 15~. Lizards are horrible monsters to exp off of.. at least compared to Goblins, Crabs, and Worms.

Anyway if you plan to do a 'Maze' party you have two options: 1. Have two healers and melee the thing up(not suggested) 2. Have 2-3 range damage dealers and 1-2 healers with 1 tank who gets hate and runs away from the monster before he can be hit with anything and runs out of the reach of spells.

Try to farm from time to time after lv ups to not lack in too much spells and food. As other people have said, use pineapple juices for MP regen, helps a lot with cooldown time, Apple Pies are great too. I say just go ahead and take your level upto 20, that puts your WHM upto 41 at the most, you can use your Blessed Hammer then. Hitting 20 isn't that big of a challange if you have the time and are lucky with EXP PT's.

As for gears; at lv8 just buy Tunic-Mitts-etc set, then at lv10 upgrade into a Royal Footmen's Tunic. Don't bother with head-body-hands-legs-feet until lv20 now, upgrade into Mage's Tunic, Mage's Slacks, Mage's Sandals, White Mitts, or just get Black Tunic, Black Slacks, etc if you're not gil-friendly.
