  • AF2 gloves... eh

I recently got the gloves with the MB bonus. I did a few tests with them in case anyone was wondering how much they help.

On a normal MB, my firaga3 does around 1200 damage on bones in Ramps Tomb. This damage comes from Fire Staff, Moldavite and that other good stuff. But when I put on the gloves my damage was around 1265-1275.. I was pretty disapointed. This just seems like a 3% increase or so. Just another gear to add to my macros to slightly increase damage output. >.<

Well I didnt see any other info on this outthere so just giving a heads up.

If AF2 gloves do indeed add only 3%, then indeed, Zenith is better. Zenith Gloves add +5 magic attack bonus, which we know from our formula equates to +5% damage. However, not only is this 2% higher than AF2 gloves to begin with, Zenith mitts do this for *every* spell, not just on bursts. Therefore, hands down, Zenith Mitts are better than AF2 gloves.

However, this is assuming of course you're nuking something that doesn't resist that much, as why would anyone unequip +15 elemental magic skill that are our AF1 gloves? O.o (unless nuking things much lower, or not that resistant, of course)

well Im not good at math so that 3% is just a vague guess. I guess it has to be 3-5 or so, but it doesnt seem to be more then 5%. Either way, but the time you can wear them at 72, you wont have alot of EXP mobs resisting you, due to there not being anything too tough to worry about. Maybe the gloves have some sort of latent 'less MB resistance' attribute or something. Either way I was pretty upset myself, and would have been happy with a 1300+ MB.

        At least it looks cool.

Sounds like it's good for wearing around Jueno.

Edit: On second thought, what are the full stats? I believe it has Enmity -

I always wondered why we got +3 chr. And now I realized... I'm gonna wear Igqira gloves instead. >.>

Screw it, go with the AF1 gloves.

Even with AF1 gloves + Ice Staff + Black Cloak + Elemental Torque some mobs like Ulikummi will resist the fuck out of you even at level 75.

If you HNM, there's no reason not to wear the AF1 gloves.

Toys like Zenith Mitts and AF2 gloves are just for fighting weak stuff.

Fewer resistances means much greater damage over time than adding ~5% damage to each nuke you cast.

They are good for MBing, with the Enmity minus and a bit more of a bonus puts it over Zenith mitts. Also can be used when casting Darkness spells :spin:

Thank god you can change equipment in macros
