Ice/Dark Staves, how do these prices compare?

How much does Ice Staff and Dark Staff cost on your server?

On my server they cost 220k and 200k respectively.

I'm wondering if I should buy one or the other right now even though I'm only level 15 Blm... just in case the price goes up.. or will it only fall?

It's like 240 for a dark staff and ice is a bit less.

I don't mean to jack your topic, but this came to my attention: Why does everyone like the ice staff so cotton pickin much? It's not that good at all. Sure I like seeing 750 from Blizzaga II but I cannot cast *any* of my other spells as well with it as I can with a wand. The damage is gimp otherwise. I have tested it vigorously and the Ice Staff is ONLY good for ice magic damage boosts. So why does everyone like it so much?

Same reason why a melee would choose +accuracy gear over +STR gear.

Sure the +STR would mean alittle more dmg, but does no good when you miss.

Sure +INT from a wand would mean alittle more dmg, but does no good when your spell is resisted on an IT. +elemental skill is BLM accuracy gear.

Becides, If you're so worried about your dmg being "gimp" why not buy all of them?

Staff prices are at an all time low on Quetz (most 200k). I don't seem them dropping much more, and if anything will probably go back up some. So now would probably be a good time to grab one if you have the gil to spare.

120k for ice.. 290 for dark.. heh, funny, the ice ore is 150k..

dark should go down..... some high lvl crafter is annoying me on the bismarck market of light/dark staves.. Mimmy..

On midgardsormr i think Ice are around 220k and Dark's around 350k? Haven't checked recently. Ever since the masses figured out how to grow it, the prices keep diving.

On Ragnarok the prices of all the staves have fallen drasticly the past month.

Ice Staff has fallen to 100k and I beleive Dark staff is 150k~200k now(not certain about that range). All the other staves are around 200k~250k as well.

Dark was 400k and Pluto was 630K when I got my Pluto.
Dark is now down to 200k and Pluto dropped down to 400K but came back up to 500k on Ramuh.

I am still glad I bought it when I did though. Leveling with Pluto has given me a lot more extra MP from the regen and Aspir.


Ice was 200K when I bought it. Last time I checked it was 140k. HQ remains over 1 mil.

Honestly, I would wait until you can use one. There is a good chance the price will either remain teh same or drop more. Some people would make the case that the price will go up with the PS2ers reaching those levels, but many of the ores are coming from the PS2 players. More people growing more ores = lower staff cost. Eventually the markets will become saturated with staffs and the price will fall again, because people are reselling thier old staves, or more crafters making the staves.

At your level its a waste of gil that should be invested into a craft or used for other purposes than to fill a slot in your mog house.

Right now im trying to scrap together 300k, 200k for dark, 100k for ice.

And the only way im able to make money is warping people out from 2nd jungle, ive made about 100k in like 8 days or something, 500g per warp...

I need to buy thunder and light as soon as possible as well ~_~

I was lucky enough to walk into a Leaping Lizzy the other day as a lvl 15 Blm and killed her and like 3 suspenseful seconds later it said I had found the boots. I was so happy. But yeah that's gonna help but i think i need a lot more eventually.

How much does errant stuff usually go for? black cloak?

Btw both HQ staves are supposedly 600k on my server, maybe I'll have enough for one of them by the time I reach 51 which should be around 2 months from now. (I have enough one for now but that would leave me totally naked)

The HQ staves on midgardsormr are still 1.5-2 million gil each. They may have come down some in price...but I doubt it.

All of the errant gear (excluding the errant body peice) goes for less than 10k per peice. The body peice on midgardsormr goes for ~200k or so. A very good bargin for the price, if you consider the lack of better options. Hell...even with better options, you can't really beat that price

Midgardsormr prices are really messed up. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that it is newer than most servers (other than Fairy and Asura), and really lacks competition amongst the high level crafters.

I can probably count on one hand the number of prominent level 90+ crafters in each guild on Midgardsormr. Even so, the number of high level crafters is slowly increasing, and staff prices are falling. I just bought a Light Staff last night for 400K, and that was almost 500K a few weeks ago.

As Atrapos noted above, though, the HQ staves are all still 1M+ on Midgardsormr. Highway robbery, indeed.

I personally would love to have all the staffs, and it is a long term goal for me. We shall see...

I guess I had not realized that elemental skill was accuracy, I'll try to play with that a little and see how my resists go. Thanks.
