Trying Maat at lv66

shiva's ring is -15% MP... I just used shaman, elemental torque and ice staff... didn't get a single resist... left my ice ring in mog house

For the fun of it? That and I'm considering quitting, and I kinda just wanna get my revenge on the old fart for G1.


Tried him twice so far:

Results of attempt 1:
I got him slivered...1 more spell and he would've ate it. He started casting Waterga III (I had been lucky up to that point and had only needed stun to stop a burst...other than that, were all weak spells (frost, blind, poison)). I hit my elemental seal + sleep II macro...I see ele seal animation, I start casting...it finishes....but the spell doesn't finish. I try to get in a blizzard II, but waterga III finishes and hits me for 661 damage.

Results of attempt 2:
Again, got him slivered, he was asleep, freeze was casting, and I disconnected. Campus network was down entirely...logged in 15 minutes later, was dead outside the BC.


What I learned: Do NOT combine macro's. Make a macro for each thing and use them separately. Maat is a HUGE pussy. lol

Went in there with 272 elemental magic skill and 200 enfeebling skill (lv66). Freeze did ~800 damage (ice day may have helped), waterga III did 672 damage. Third spell never got off, but it definately would've killed him.

I tried at 66, with elemental capped.. +icestaff and af gloves, giving me near 260~ elemental skill...

Freeze.. 80damage... Flare 110 damage (since i did some fire debuffing) Then Thunder3 did 82


Conclusion... Testimony waisted!

1 only goes there at 70
2 bring the maximum elemental skill equip you can get..
Elemental torque, Jse, Ice staff, Af gloves.
that should help out alot.. good luck if u do it right you can beat the record!

Of course that you can beat at 66,67,68,69

But we can say thay you need alot more of +elemental skill AND luck..

as someone told before... better go 70 and straight own him!

From watching the videos so far, this is my train of thought:

Flare >> ES >> Sleep II >> Manafont >> Freeze >> Stun >> Thunder III

Ideas? Hints? Comments? Anything's appreciated.

Try to get an elemental torque, if you can't get the +3INT +3MND neck peice that comes from assualts. You're probably gonna have osme trouble with resists, but maybe you can do it. I'd sleep him after stun if I were you

Maybe casting Freeze first would work better, I remember checking the spell's description and Freeze makes the target weak against Fire, which would help Flare do either more damage or lower resistence.


But then again I never see BLMs taking advantage of that so maybe I read it wrong.

You read it right. The elemental Debuff isn't super useful in a party, so thats why BLMs don't really use it... It can come in handy on NM fights when you need that tiny bit of extra dmg for the win ^_^.
