Equipments for BC40?

I'm just curious about what specific items are needed for a BLM to be useful in killing BCNM40

Some of the equips my LS suggests include:
Chestnut wand,
Silver hairpin,
Holy Phail,
Morion earings??? (need suggestion)
Full RSE,
Merc. Cpt. Belt,
Unkown rings ???
Unkown Back ???

I am not really sure on what items you would need other than the 40 beastman seals to get the orb. But from what I have heard you need a blm and bard to put the mobs to sleep so you can fight them one at a time. hope that helps some

Umm....cant remember if Sleep is an enfeeble or not.
Anyway, if it is, switch to +mnd equip when you cast it, then go back to your regular +int/mp equipment for nukes.

What race are you? I bet you arent a Taru, since RSE is near useless for us Taru mages.

Sleep is enfeeble yes but if you're on sleep duty you'll be mashed when the other 7 mobs wake up at once =p

Need a brd to sleep pretty much.

Black cape(+1), electrum/eremite rings, shaman/merc capt belt are all reasonably priced lvl 40 equips.

a blm sleep isn't that effective against bcnm40
make sure your BARD has a lulluby wand of some sort, his sleep is more powerful and will the KEY to victory, provided everyone else does what they're supposed to do it's not an easy fight

actually...blms work pretty effectively as a backup sleeper with high mnd.

higher BCNMs, you'd be main sleeper with sleep II and sleepga II

I hear this certian rumor from a certian Dark Knight thats a Black Mage hater, that BLM can't MB off an Asura Fist SK. To my knowledge that would be a 3rd lvl renkie, which would be light, however wouldn't I have a choice between four elements to MB off of, like i do with 2nd lvle Renkies?

I think he's just being stupid, and talking about a Transfixion skillchain, which you can burst light spells off of. He doesn't know what he's talking about. BLM can burst plenty of spells off Light skillchains.

u can burst light renkeis wif light\fire\lightning\wind and darkness renkeis with water\ice\dark\earth
its twice the spell choices for lv2 renkeis

theres no skillchain a blm cant burst off effectively..
even drain burst off compression is pretty damaging for 22mp.. even if u drain 0hp..

except maybe transfixion.. dia\cure\banish\holy? w

Don't Black Magic enfeebles work off of Int rather than Mnd? Sleep being among them. That's what topics on the RDM board lead me to believe anyway.

afaik black enfeebles are affected by int, white enfeebles by mnd. mandragoras will beat the crap out of ya if you sleepga...having a bard is a necessity.

the ONLY skillchain a blm can't MB off of properly is a transfixion one. everything else has an element that blm can MB with...

my blm has +int equipment out the wazoo (+27 w/ food). equipment helps but its all about consumables. make sure everybody chugs a poison potion (1k each) and casters have yagudo drinks or melon juice. eat a pie, preferably rolanberry but melon works fine. bard and pld should eat fish mithka (or chiefkabob). whm/rdm eat whatever. if you REALLY wanna splurge, get some high potions and other crap.

make absolutely sure your party is COMPLETELY prepared. everything done in the bcnm should become 2nd nature before u enter otherwise your group will probably die. i've done it with people who didn't bring consumables, forgot to use their consumables, etc....basically we ended up getting wiped. last thing is to filter as much stuff as u can....the only thing i left unfiltered was special actions initiated by others...this lets u see dangerous attacks so your group can stun or bash it.

Asuran Fists' element is Gravitation, which makes a Darkness skillchain.

MB-able spells would be Blizzard, Water, Stone, Dark spells.

My Blizzaga III hit for 1029 non MB on an IT.

Just fyi, MB-able spells for Light renkei are Fire, Lightning and Aero. That drk is full of shit. And well, even if he's talking about Transfixion...no one ever does Transfixion =P If anything, I think the blm's power increases dramatically 70+.
