L50 Ring Question

So what would be better? :

1) +2 INT Ring i'm currently wearing.

or

2) L50 Job Ring. +10 Magic Attack Bonus?

I'm a Taru btw.

It's not +10 Magic attack... it's LATENT EFFECT: +10 Magic Attack, big difference

Latent effect means it only works when under a certain amount of health (70%?)

I'd stick with +2 int ring.

My friend has both... he likes to grab aggro or run up into the mob's AE radius so his HP drops enough to activate the effect. Tanks and healers hate this... they want everyone in the white at all times. :sweat:

Doesn't work well becuase you need to sit and rest anyways, or at all for blm/whm, because we have Auto-Regen.

Well shoot, I just went and bought the latent effect ring. I thought it might actually be worth something. I still have all my +2 INT rings though, so I can always re-equip and sell.

Has anyone done any firm research on the effects of the latent effect rings?

Well, they don't work when near full HP, and that's enough for me to pass on them. Also, you can get Zircon rings +3 INT +7 Sv water for like 55k (Fenrir price) - Lvl 36 limit.

I think your health must be in the yellow (or lower) and your TP below 100% to get Latent Effects.

Hmm, couldn't you do something like . . . wear two serket(sp) rings before the fight, swap them off so you'll have an extra un-filled 100 hp capacity, and put on your L50 BLM-only ring? That MIGHT put a Taru in the yellow. Also, switch to rdm sub to avoid the auto hp-refresh and hope your whm doesn't Regen you out of spite/paranoia.

Maybe throw in a +1 gold hairpin and an astral shield? take them off while taking off the serket rings . . .

edit: silly me, serket rings are rare, only one allowed. Bummer.
