  • +INT, Distance, and Staff vs Club

    Ok, first question:
Each INT you get, how much does it raise your magic damage? Is there a percentage that anyone has calculated about?

    Second:
Does distance to enemy matter when casting? I sometimes notice when I'm battling Snippers, if I'm closer, I get around 60 damage with fire, but when I'm further away it gets around 11-30. This is on incredibly tough btw with high defenise so I've checked all that out. I talked with some EQ people and they say maybe cause in EQ it was like that.

    Third:
BLM starts with a staff, but it seems the club class weapons are the only ones with major +int increases like the willow wand (INT + 2, MDN + 2) vs my Holly Staff (HP+4, MP+4). It seems I'd rather want to start leveling up the clubs over the staff, any high levels please tell if you use club or staff.

    Thanks,
    Bitz

#3 ... Clubs are the main weapons a Blm should Use ... Same as for Whms (Hammers, but they fall into same categori)

Both Blm and Whm have "Club" Artifact Weapons, while SUMMONERS have staff ! ...
    Tonks

    White Mage, Black Mage, Bard

      Dunno about #1...

#2. I haven't noticed any difference in damage when casting over long distances...and if it was like that in EQ, I for some reason never noticed it in 65 levels.

#3. Level up weapons? What? Your job is to stand in the back and blow stuff up, not melee. Use whatever gives you better stats.
      I'm not even here

#2 EQ didn't have a damange modifier depending how far from the enemy you were. There was however a complete nullification of your spell if you were too far away from some monsters, ( Fire Giants come to mind ) and you had to be within melee range to land spells.

#2 cont... Try doing 10 casts in a row from a long distance and 10 from a short distance and you should see that it has no effect on damage.

INT is not that much help to raise your magic damege. it effects the regist rate for your magic effect. I think.

for example when you battle the very very strong monster whose level is 10or 20 or more higher than us, they resist the most of your magic damage, or magic effect (like paraize, slow etc..)
Only the INT helps to reduce the resist rate.
I think the ressist rate is culculated by the conparison betwwen our INT and monster's INT.
so, like Pod, Elemental, Damon type monster have high resist rate. because they have such a high INT.

so better equip the wepon which raise the INT for party, but the Solo you better equip the both hand wepon.

*sorry for my messy English?@(?O?O?G I don't speak English as a first language.. I hope you understand what I'm talking.

          good luck!!
