Is black mage good to start with as a tarutaru

hey i'm going to become a black mage when i get the game but is it good to start with i was going to be a black mage/white mage
but i dont can people give me better ideas for a subjob as a black mage

BLM/WHM is the best BLM combo, Taru's are the best BLMs so yes. Start as the BLM though WHM can't solo cause they can' dmg, and for thouse first lvs you'll be alone.

Well, you could use summoner too for the MP bonuses.

Honestly...

You could use:

BLM/RDM : Some healing, and a lot of BLK you already have.

BLM/SMN : Lot's of MP, that's pretty much the only advantage because sub SMN is pretty bad for summoning because their power is based on their lv.

BLM/WHM : You become a back up healer get some teleport spells and more MP + MND.

BLM/BRD : Pretty much crap since you can only do one song and you can't hold an instrument. Plus no MP bonus.

All the other jobs are fighting based, so these are really the only ones you should look at. From what I understand, it's harder for BLM to get into PT's at higher lvs since people prefer the RDM+BRD grouping which mean it's now them or a healer however, without /WHM your shooting yourself in the foot there.

I am a BLM/RDM... I love it. BLM/RDM gets added HP, DEF, INT, Elemental Magic Skill, Enfeeble Skill, and lets not forget Fast Cast. My WHM is lvl 18... and to some people that is terrible seeing how I am a 74BLM. But in my mind... do what you want. If you want to go with the basic BLM/WHM combo... go ahead. But look at it this way... most BLMs I have talked to only want the WHM sub for the Raise ability and the Teleport spells that come at much higher levels.

You need to be level 72 before you can teleport with BLM. You also need to be level 50 to raise. Now... trust me... at higher levels, Teleporting is nice... but no one in there right mind would accept your stupid little Raise 1 in an EXP party. Sure your raise would be good if you see a dead guy and you want to raise them up... but I dont see that happen very often.

BLMs have alot of options... try them all out. Give it all a shot.

all post-spamage aside, use the search feature, theres like 9 threads on this already. blm/rdm better for all for one ppl, blm/whm for one for all ppl, blm/smn for crazies, blm/brd is useless.
