This is a great place to be at level 19, and possibly 20. I camped near the Hexmarsh (lower right water area) and used bees, clippers, flies, and pugils against a combination of the above pets (when they spawned T), plus the two Crawlers at the north end of the marsh and any Quadav that wandered too close. Nothing but the Quadav will aggro, but Crawlers and leeches link (of course).
As ever, the WHM Quadav are just too much trouble to be worth it; and the PLD are a fair handful as well. Cure III will really ruin your night, what with Beastmen having near-inexhaustible levels of MP.
You just have to exercise a little tiny bit of caution during water weather (i.e. all the time) because of the lone Water Elemental that travels up and down your camp. I had zero problems with it, just be sure to swivel your camera around before casting anything.
Bring antidote.
