Re: Tahrongi Canyon*
I would stay in Sarutabaruta until 11-12 killing EPs and DCs and then come here. First targets are the rabbits, sapplings, and mands near Sar. entrance and then further in. Once you are 14 you can start charming Dhamels and pit them against each other. Watch out for Yagudo as well some are still EM-T at 15-16. You can also kill the occasional crawlers for silk. Save the femurs and dhamel hides and sell them on the AH or save them up for crafts.

Re: Tahrongi Canyon*
Just as a note, I wandered here as a lvl 12 to 15ish beastmaster, and I found that most of the dhamels checked as tough for my lvl 14 beastmaster forcing me to just speedkill easy prey mobs until I hit 15. Once I hit 15, the dhamels checked as even so I could start charming them without having to worry about my charm wearing off. ;P
If you want to go here at lvl 12, stick with the rabbits, mandies, bees, and saplings. You can probably take on the Goblin Thug/Weavers/first tier of beastmen easily, but avoid the second tier of beastmen. They will be too hard for you at lvl 12. (Heck, I still ran into tough beastmen as a lvl 14 beastmaster.)
Being a level 14 bst is annoying in this area because I found that most mobs were either tough or easy prey; very few decents. I was mostly in the southeast (lower right hand) corner of the map near the Buburimu Peninsula zone, so maybe I was in the wrong area. The crawlers are sometimes decent to a lvl 14 bst, but there are not many of them, and by that time, some of them might check as easy prey.
Just wanted to share this before I forget it as I level up. ;DLast edited by Asiren; 11-21-2006, 01:36 PM. Reason: Wanted to clarify the original post; I thought the camp location I gave initially was misleading.Asiren - 75 whm, 60 war, 44 nin, 42 smn, 41 blm, 37 rng...
