Re: Labyrinth of Onzozo*
As I remember it, you basically (since you don't have Invis yet) bolt past the three goblins in the room just into the zone, and set up camp in that tunnel. If you get aggro, bolt back out and you should be okay. Prism potion might well be worth the money, although they do all face the wall from time to time.
Once you are in that tunnel, all those leeches are your pets, and the cockatrice are your prey. Remember leeches link during mischarms >.<
There is an ele that spawns basically in your camp; you can fight without magic when it's there, or try to move the fight a bit farther up the tunnel without coming into sight of the 3 goblin room.
The cockatrice aren't too hard to kill, and leeches make great pets, but watch out for Petrification; either try to heel your pet quickly so it isn't looking at the cockatrice when the ability goes off, or ditch that pet and get another one because a petrified leech will just sit there looking dumb while you slowly climb up to the top of the hate list.
There's a bunch of goblins you can hunt in the cockatrice room, and a little tunnel to the right you can try to set up camp; it's not as good as the entrance tunnel though.
There are constantly people farming cockatrice for meat, skins, etc., so sometimes this area stinks.
On the other hand, you get the meat and skins when they drop too^^
Happy Hunting!

Re: Labyrinth of Onzozo*
Level: 49
Camp: H-10 (in the leech tunnel)
Exp: 2k/hr
Camped in the tunnel with 3 decent challenge leeches [45-48] as pets killing Cockatrices [50-53], Goblins [46-49], and a Mushushu [level 51 -??]every now and then.
The main target here were the Cockatrices, which all checked as Tough’s. The downside to these was the damage they would deal to my pets; it took me 3-4 leeches (might just have had trouble gettin high end DC leeches) to take one Cockatrice down. They basically ate my leeches up. Best I could do was chain 2 on these.
Also, their TP moves are pretty nasty. They have a petrify move, which can be dealt with by charming a new pet if this move hits your pet. However, if this move hits you, you’re done for.
At this level, there were still a few EM gobs running around, so once I could get the biggest chain out of the Cockatrices I could, I’d try to keep the chain alive on the EM gobs.
Every now and then, if I could get back to it, I’d take down the Mushushu that runs around in one of the tunnels. Only real problem with these is Wild Rage Spam (or an unfortunate Death Scissors on a pet swap).
Once in a while, I’d clear out the DC gobs in the area trying to get the EM’s to respawn.
P.S. For the /WHM BST's be very careful of the IT Air Elemental that spawns in the tunnel from time-to-time

Re: Labyrinth of Onzozo*
This place is a joke for xp. Absolutely the worst BST camp I've ever seen.
It takes forever to take down a cocatrice, and depending on how often they use baleful gaze it can take as long as 15 minutes for one battle. So let's see, that averages out to about... 800 xp an hour? And that's with an xp ring on, and also you can just forget about chaining in this hell hole. And not to mention if you have to pet swap just how hard these things can hit you for. And there's also that wonderful little air elemental that spawns right on top of your camp every couple of minutes.
Sounds like a great xp zone doesn't it. I don't know what noob bst originally thought this place was a viable camp for xp, but it isn't.

If you think there are better exp camps at these levels, then fine. You should probably mention them. Just be objective in presenting your viewpoint. Hyperbole helps no one.Lyonheart

Re: Labyrinth of Onzozo*
I've come back here at 57 and am trying to figure out how to make the G-7 camp work. If I can figure out how to not get aggro while doing anything, I'll edit this in. For now, it's difficult enough just getting around while keeping Sneak/Invisible up as there are so few safe places to recast and timing is vital.
As far as I can tell, it should be possible to clear out some of the gobs to make a space to work in, as while aggro is a problem, links aren't. The most promising place so far seems to be the tunnel leading to the Lord of Onzozo room (H-7). I'll report back when I've had a go.
I had a look around the lower level camp at the time but was unlucky with the weather so didn't try fighting here (I ended up at the Goblinsavior Heronex room in Gustav Tunnel). It might be a better proposition using /nin here.
Edit: had another good look round but I still can't figure out how to do anything without getting aggro. The only way I can see of doing anything is Charming/Familiaring an EM and tearing through DC mobs. I know someone who did 57-58 here and they said it was hard work, but I'll give this one a miss.
I went off to Yhoator Jungle and used jug pets on EPs while skilling up sword to get to 58. While it's a bit of a cop-out, at least I got something productive done. I'll probably do more skilling up, Beseiged and ENMs to get to 59, then I'll go to Uleguarand Range to get back to the proper stuff.I have heard that those who celebrate life
walk safely amongst the wild animals.
When they go into battle, they remain unharmed,
the animals find no place to attack them
and weapons are unable to harm them.
Why? Because they find no place for death in them.

The only time my exp there really tanked was when some lvl 60 BLU decided to LFG in the zone while killing my pets.

And that's the thing, I can't find anything else for this lvl range. I would love to be able to suggest a better spot but I just can't find any. I've been everywhere suggested multiple times. Maybe I should just go back to Gustav and kill dc's until I hit that magic number.
Another horrible thing about Onzozo are the farmers. They will come in and completely kill every mob your xp'ing on with complete disregard for you, most of the times they camp right on top of you like your not even there. All this just adds up to a nightmare of a zone. If anyone has made it work I would love to know how you did it, because for the life of me.. I just don't get it. =(

The only suggestion I can add is to pet swap right after the Cockatrice fires off a TP move (if your pet is already down to 50% health or lower). It's bad when the Cockatrice petrifies your new pet almost immediately after a pet swap. It's even worse if you get petrified while you are attempting a pet swap. Also, it helps to have Blink up (if you're subbing WHM) during pet swaps. Heck, since you don't really need Sneak here at this level, subbing NIN might not be a bad idea.
The Elemental is somewhat manageable. The hallway you camp in is long enough that you can typically run far enough away from it to cast a spell or two.
At 49, I think that camp has exhausted it's usefulness. Since the leeches only go up to 48, it's hard to distinguish between a high DC and a low DC, which makes a big difference against Cockatrices. I tried Garlaige at 49 (Citadel Bats vs Explosures), but I found that the pets didn't last long enough to let me rest to get my MP back. Perhaps at 50, with a Gaudy Harness, it's better. But I never went back to that camp to find out.
At 49, I just did some beetle vs beetle grinding at Revelation Rock in W. Altepa. But be warned, if you found farmers in Onzozo annoying, Revelation Rock just might be worse. Not only does it tend to attract NPC levelers, but also exp parties.Lyonheart
