  • Summon Stone/Pets

Yes i heard gosh talking about something called "summon stones" what exactly is that? what purpose is it for? Also, the pets you tame, how long can you keep them, and are they saved on your ability list to use them again? or its a 1 time thing you have to go tame another beast when it dies or dissappears?

    Summon stones and etc...

As far as i know, Sumon stones are rumored to be, well... stones, that Beast Tamers can use to capture monsters and save them for future use.(just like the monster trainers from FFV) The purpose of saving them would be so that you don't waste any "tame time" while travelling, or to keep them locked up and not attract enemies. It was also rumored that they would be able to take these stones through zones and transfer monsters to different zones.(as i understand, you cannot bring a tamed monster accross zones.)

Im not sure whether the tamed creatures name opens up a new menu option or you just use the commands straight from the skill menu. once a monster is tamed he sticks around untill you/it dies or becomes untamed. with that said, it is safe to say that they are not added to a list to be saved again (althought thats what summon stones are said to do). when you loose a pet you can tame another one, or retame it if possible(meaning: still alive). But in battle, it is better to let it die so you don't loose 30% exp.

I bet your right that you will not be able to take it across zones.

I say this because if you could...
You know some immature punk, with a bad attitude, who wishes the game was PvP and who is named "Kewldood" would...

      1) Use his lvl 60 BST to tame a lvl 60 monster.
      2) Trap it in a summon stone.
      3) Go to a different zone with lvl 15 monsters and players.
      4) Release the lvl 60 BST from the stone.
      5) Untame the monster (or let tame wear off)
      6) Than sit back and watch the lvl 60 monster kill every single lvl 15 player in the Newbie zone just because "Kewldood" wants to see how many "newbies" "he" can kill.

      You know this would happen.

So I agree that you will not be able to carry monsters across zones.

UNLESS, S-E made it so the monster vanishes or dies as soon as the tame wears off... now that would be cool! That way a BST could truly be a great character w/o a risk of ruining the fun for newbies.

I think it would also be neat if summon stones acted like the Capture ability from FFV. Instead of capturing a monster and releasing a controlable monster, you could instead capture a monster and when you release it, it pops out and does it's special ability, then leaves. With that, BSTs could take them accross zones, without the newbie bloodbaths :spin:

coool the summon stones sound fun, you could capture the monsters that you like the most, for there appearence, or attacks, and save them for when u battle, because you be in a place where you cannot tame that beast for it doesnt spawn there, and also be nicer to save taming time also like you said. But i think you should be able to take them to different zones.

Remember that they are just rumors and what is explained here is how they would work out in theory. I have found no real solid evidence about their existance, but honestly, BST's need somesort of improvement...

I know this is NEVER going to happen, but that would be SOOO cool to capture 3 Behemoths and send them against the Shadow Lord.

I'd pay good money to see that.

Now, it would be a better fight to have 3 Shadow Lords against one Behemoth, since one Behemoth alone could easily destroy Shadow Lord.

What summon stones? There are some expendable items to summon pets out. The items can be bought or make from guild.

At lv23, BST will have a new ability to use these expendable items. Items are equiped in the ammo slot. Once u summon a pet, u cant charm/ have another pet. These items have different lvl, meaning stronger pets at higher lvl.

U will still suffer 30% drop in exp with the pet around. So these pet are useful for BCNM, boss fights, escapes, lure....

Items can be guild or purchased in choco stables. HQ make is possible resulting in stronger pets.
