Sub for beast tamer??

I think MNK would offer very little for BST, at least less so compared to other melee jobs.

For solo, you *must* have rdm/whm sub. It is not optional.

I'm currently using a war sub, but am thinking about swithching to WHM, but the problem is that I'm Elvaan and I won't have much MP. I'm at lvl 11 right now, do you think I should switch to a WHM sub or keep my WAR sub for awhile longer?

To be honest I didn't use BST type soloing until lvl 17 or so (stayed in ghelspa fort). However if you go the pure BST style exp route you will definitely want whm for healing. In the odd chance that you can save up some gil, aim to get some astral rings (+25 mp -25 hp, about 110k on my server). You could also try pies at really low levels. Even though your mp sucks, it is pretty much the same for every race... elvaan maybe has 15% less sub mp than hume... and hume has so little to begin with.

Just an fyi, for those that care, Stephen on Midgardsormr and is as of this posting, running around with 32 levels of whm, and 50 levels of bst, with two astral earrings, and chains xp out the ass... and he can acutally raise with his mp, and he's been at this point for awhile now... just waiting on a few other lvl50's and just make a for the Genkai1 quest.
