a Ninja cant dual wield axes, because they cant equip them

But if you're a WAR or BST you can if NIN is your sub

I was under the impression that they changed the fact that you can only tame beasts the level of your beast master, not the level of your main job

I'm thinking of going with a BST/DRK mix. I should have about a C+, B-, B in Scythe after subbing DRK (so I can get access to some better Reneki), as well as adding the ability to do more damage to magical foes (along with Insects, Flying, Soft, Reptile, Fish, and Plant type foes).

I'm thinking that I might actually be a somewhat above average melee character, what with my stats in str being fairly good as well as all the extra damage I'll be doing to quite a few foes.

Now all I have to do is wait for someone actually experienced to shoot me down. :p

*Really, I do want to know what fatal flaws this character has*

the thing is tho...Drk have lots of hate...subbing a Bst, if you are fighting WITh ya pet, the hate will go towards you and not ya pet...could be a bad thing..

When you sub a class you dont get a boost or even ability to use there weapons/ weapon grades so subbing DRK wouldnt boost your sythe effectivness. Anyways besides that I was thinking of making a BST since I like soloing, im also looking forword to PvP so I was thinking about doing BST/NIN myself dual axes + blink with a nice pet may prove to be effective :D

BST/NIN is very good from what i have seen. The highest LVL BST in NA beta was a BST/NIN. LVL 55.

would DW axes be a good idea if you're subbing NIN? What better attributes would you get if you subbed NIN? Would a Taru make a good BST?

you should be able to wield any one handed weapon so I dont see the reason why people are saying you can only double wield certain weapons

Yes, you CAN dual wield Axes (not Great Axes, of course) as a BST/NIN.

Stephen, the taru BST extraordinaire of beta, dual wielded axes as a BST/NIN. Plus those screenshots verify it as well. No more arguing.

You charm at the level of your main when sub'ing BST. That's the way it originally was, then they changed it to be the level of the sub'd BST only, then they changed it back. So currently, a Main/BST charms at the level of Main.

If you still refuse to believe these things, keep it to yourself and play the way you think it is. Don't stick to your guns and confuse other people.

                                What about Monk?

I have leveled my Monk to level 14 now, and I was thinking I'd become a BST at level 30. Would Monk be a viable sub-job, or should I level up my WHM when I get to that point?
