I like to think I've actually been a nice BST. I go out of my way not to get in your PT's way. Fields of Valor in RoZ Zones, though, All bets are off. You've stepped into my world now. Everything's fair game for everyone in FoV. I want my EXP, Gil, Caskets and Elite Training Regimes as much as anybody. I need tabs to get those Elite Training Regimes.
Same here. I want to kill people when they shit all over a BST. The only time I don't have sympathy for a BST (even as a fellow 75 BST) is when said BST is leveling in a standard PT camp area.

There are plenty of places for a BST to level, quite often where parties fear to tread. Therefore, GTFO if a PT is there or wants to use the spot. I've been asked by parties to do so before and kindly left. As much as I wanted to level 6 > 1 and I don't see any reason for ruining an entire group's enjoyment. Besides there's plenty of other crap for me to do ^^

Re: Someone stop me, I'm charming!

I been experiencing this a lot lately. I been leveling in Sandy [S] on Dijinns and the best mobs for Dijinns is ladybugs. They seem to have higher evasion (Dijinns miss them more then Colibri) , seem to hit more (they hit Dijinns more than Colibri), and seem to have more HP than the Colibri in the area. Side note: I dont tend to mischarm Ladybugs as much as I do Colibri (+28 CHR).

I been getting a lot of grief from people for charming Ladybugs, even though they will die within the next 5 minutes (less than 5 seconds if I am lucky and get the dijinns to use Nocturnal Combustion as their first WS).

I been leveling there from levels 43-51 in about 4 days. I came up with a good stragety using the roaming pixies for R3 and Cure 4 when I draw to much hate. I am half way to 52 and I probably will stay there until 53 then make an attempt at Apsic

No I'm not gonna leave no matter what kind of place it is, I'm here, you go somewhere else if you want or deal with it.

Fair for everyone and I don't have to go somewhere else just because "I can", you can go somewhere else too, and I was here first so that point makes no sense.

That parties are too much pussies to go out of their way and you're not is not a reason why they should get priority to good camps.

I went to a ton of camps in parties that many people wouldn't even think of, or know exist. And many of those camps were among my best parties. Vana'diel is a big place. If you can't find anywhere to level-- especially now with level sync, you're doing something seriously wrong.

Re: Someone stop me, I'm charming!

It actually is a good rule of thumb to avoid party camps as a BST. That is, unless you can somehow coexist and make things easier on everyone. Just as an example, back in the day when people did Bibki Bay for EXP, most of the time they were there for birds or dhamels, not Hobgoblins and rabbits.

Rabbits happen to make great cannon fodder for those obscene Bomb Tosses the hobgoblins do. So BSTs kill gobs, PTs kill Dhamels and birds, everyone goes home happy. Most of the time, though, BSTs can just go where other PTs generally won't.

Problems begin when BST targets the same mobs a PT would or when I high level PT/player comes in and starts mass killing all mobs in a camp a BST is clearly using. My recent experience in Pso'xja would be a good example. Had people just told me they'd be around killing Lizards and Diremites for chips, I could simply jump to the other side of the camp and do Hecteyes Vs. Magic Millstones instead. But no, no regard is shown for my search comment (tailored specifically to state, "Hey, I'm using X mob Vs. Y Mob here, try not to slaughter them all without telling me."

Its not so much I feel I'm entitled to those mob as much as it is being left without a mob to charm when the other one dies. Kind of a bad situation and sometimes the jug pets just barely get you out of it.

BLUs are actually pretty easy to deal with, pretty clear why they'd encroach on a camp - to learn spells. So I'll simply ask if they need help and team up with them for a bit til they get the spell. I still get my EXP, they get their spells - that's a win/win.

But soloing FoV is a whole other ballgame and in my case, I'm just after a casket with an axe in it. The FoV EXP is a bonus and I'd like to have some points built up for the Elite Training Regimes anyway, since once augments are figured out I'd like to do them if we can manipulate what stats we get. I wouldn't be here for the solo EXP normally, I still have plenty of places I can go where people won't show up and they're much more profitable camps to boot.

Bad rule of thumb if you ask me. Do not be mistaken, when I was levelling BST, I often went to camps nobody went to, but with gil drops in mind. My logic is if you solo and get slower EXP than a party, you might as well exploit some of the other perks of soloing.

But take for example when ToAU first came out. The general assumption was that it was purely for the enjoyment of level 75 players. But at that time I was still levelling BST and was looking for new camps where I can get the new Sanction Refresh. Found several camps that were actually quite good for me. The prey...was Lesser Colibri. Today, any area with them is generally considered a party camp. Even some areas of Aydeewa Subterrane were good for BST, but were incidentally good for party too. Had a good clean few levels there, but at the tail end of my time there, parties started discovering it.

Even camps change. People didn't used to make the effort to go behind Garlaige Gate 2 to kill beetles, but today they do. You have legitimate need for EXP just like everybody else. Sure overcamping is rude, but if you're there first? You don't have to leave at all...

Re: Someone stop me, I'm charming!

I've got no problem sharing mobs with the odd party or other few players that happen along when I'm leveling, because there's almost always lots to go around. But when I receive an insulting tell saying "Fuck off" or something similar from a group of people who just showed up and have the nerve to talk to me like some animal, I'm not about to sit there and take it. At that point I summon my other BST friends and we take every mob that they're trying to level on until they leave. I enjoy sharing and working together with people, but we all pay to play and that gives me just as much right to level where I choose as anyone else.
