Charm EXP

I'm trying to work out the EXP loss when killing with a charmed pet.

I remember reading that the 30% loss to the BST was removed in a patch, but I just had my pet die and gained 140 exp, usually I'd get 50-75 tops of 100!

Was it Call beast that was changed to no exp loss and not Charm?

I've leveled several jobs from 1-20 using BST as a subjob after the patch, and I've always received the same XP with or without a charmed pet. Perhaps you just killed a T enemy and all others were either DC-EM. Another likely possibility is that you had mistakenly charmed a T pet which was reducing your XP.

It was Charm. Call Beast had already had its EXP penalty removed quite some time before S-E decided to remove the EXP penalty from charmed pets as well.

It really sounds like you did kill a T when you were killing DC-EM. 140 XP is probably right for 2 levels above you. Of course, doing something like that is going to be a bit harder on your pet...

One more question (Hope people see it)

Does CHR only effect the charm itsself?

I'm at lv 14 do i need to keep the CHR gear on me, or can i swap it out for DD gear once my charm has landed?
