That 50k price mentioned for Midgardsormr must be based on what you might find in one of the starting cities. FFXIAH.com shows that those rings are going for 20k in Jeuno. Still, that's a lot for a newer player working on a tight budget.
The great thing about soloing as BST is that your pets will never complain that you need more expensive gear.

I think the 50k price point was the total for both rings, not each one.

Maybe the cost of mats is also lower. Or there is too much competition which keeps the prices low. I don't know. I just know that they are dirt cheap, and I'm not complaining.

I checked based on your server's prices for the materials as well. Vision and Mighty Ring are probably better off being made using mostly NPC sold stuff. Silver Rings, Amethysts and Sardonyxs are all sold by an NPC in Jeuno. Even if you somehow got a hold of those items cheaper through the AH (they can't get much cheaper than the NPC), you wouldn't make that much of a profit on each ring, especially considering that you'll basically have to do 3 synths to make one ring.

That makes sense. Though the price of two Balance Rings comes up to about the same. But if I were on a tight budget, I'd get something I can sell back later (Balance Rings) rather than something I'll potentially use up and not be able to sell back (Vision/Mighty Ring).

That doesn't change the fact that that's the price they are going for on my server. I'm not sure what the problem is.
