I was curious how many of you solo the BCNMs. I'm trying to get my Mannequin torso and hands. But I don't know what equipment I sould get to solo them. Any help would be appreciated.

BCNMs aren't soloed all that much.

Anyone can solo BCNM50 Treasure and Tribulations. You go in and there are three boxes, one has treasure, two are mimics. Attack one and the others despawn. If it's treasure, it opens and you get it. If not, you have to fight the mimic to get the treasure. The way that this is soloed is to go in with some sort of interruptible escape (Manafont-Warp, Mijin Gakure, etc) I've done it twice as NIN, got a mimic both times and just exploded on it. With only a 1 in 3 chance of getting treasure, it is mostly a waste of seals... unless you get lucky. I just use my seals on Under Observation or Worms Turn, usually.

As for mannequin parts, word on the street is that BCNM20 Shooting Fish can be done by a solo Summoner using Ramuh. This one can net the body and head. See Shooting Fish Strategies for how.

I've also heard that a single Beastmaster can solo BCNM20 Wings of Fury. Requires lots of items, though.

I'm not able to bring up any of the links you put in. The only place I'm able to get on the computer is at work and they have those pages blocked. Thanks for the information though.

              Re: BCNM Soloing

              Here is Shooting Fish Strategies:
              Summoner Solo

BCNM20 in Horlais Peak (Top of Ghelsba/Yughott)

Yes, that's right, this BCNM can be soloed by a summoner. This can take a good deal of skill though, so until you're used to the finess of utilizing your Astral Flows to best effect, keep practising.
              Strategy:
              • Bring a Yagudo Drink or two.
              • Equipment doesnt really matter: It is possible to do this with no gear on.
              • If you still don't feel safe bring gear that increases your evasion.
              • At the start of the fight run up to the arena. Once the NMs are in sight summon Ramuh and use your drink. Get just close enough to assault the Sniper Pugil (It is IMPORTANT that you do not get aggro!)
              • As soon as Ramuh attacks use Astral Flow and Judgment Bolt.
              • After Judgment bolt, retreat Ramuh and run back to the Burning Circle. Ramuh and the NMs will follow you.
              • At some point halfway through, have Ramuh Assault the Sniper Pugil again.
              • If Ramuh dies resummon him ASAP, for the Pugils hit hard.
              • As soon as you are able to, use Judgment Bolt again. This should finish off the Sniper Pugils and his friends. Just to be safe, run to the arena as soon as Judgment Bolt goes off. If there are any survivors they will be easy to finish off.

              Strategy Pros:
              • Pugils are water-based and are weak to Ramuh's lightning attacks
              Strategy Cons:
              • Summoners are soft and squishy and are relatively weak if their avatars are killed.
              Making this Strategy Better:
              • If Ramuh dies and there's not much room to run away and recast, there is a nook about halfway down the ramp from the circle. You can lodge yourself into this to avoid casting interruptions from the pugil's attacks.

              -------

All you need to know about Wings of Fury is that it doesn't drop mannequin parts, but it does drop an Astral Ring (25%) which can be sold to buy the parts.

              Beastmaster Solo Strategy

BCNM20 at Hut in Ghelsba Outpost.

This fight can also be solod by a BST/WHM of moderate ability. I have successfully defeated this solo 13 times. I have never defeated it in a party of 2 or 3 members (The reason I started to do it solo). --Daniel 09:03, 3 July 2006 (PDT)
              Preperation:
              • Any and all +CHR gear available for this level. You will make a minimum of 2-3 charms, so anything you can get your hands on. The first 5 times I did this I did not have a Monster Signa, so although it's not required, I do recommend it.
              • I recommend around 7 Hi-Potions. Take 10 to be safe.
              • Tavnazia Taco (Def Boost) or Tuna Sushi (Chr Boost)
              • 1xPet Food Zeta
              • Optional: 1xYag drink
              • Optional: VIT+ Gear. Chances are you'll fail a charm or 2, so if you want, take some VIT Rings etc to help your tanking abilities.
              Strategy:
              • Enter the arena, use your Taco/Sushi and Yag Drink and buff up.
              • Charm a Fury (Either will do)
              • Should Charm fail, Switch to VIT gear (If you have it) and Stand Still. Do not run around as this will cause the bats to cast dangerous spells (Drain) more frequently. Use Hi-Potions / Cure as required, and keep trying to charm.
              • Once charm has landed, use Familiar then set it onto Colo-Colo.
              • Wait for Fight recast, then set your bat on the other Fury.
              • Your bat will now be fighting both bats. Run as far away as possible, and start Curing/Poisona yourself. Save your Hi-Potions for when your tanking as Cure gets interrupted.
              • When your bat reaches 20% HP, run closer to him and use the Pet Food Zeta.
              • Continue Resting.
              • When your bat dies, you need to charm the other Fury, and set it on Colo-Colo. It's the same as before-- if charm fails, stand still and use hi-potions as needed.
              • At this point, you can choose to help your pet, recharming if needed. Personally I take the chance to run out of range and rest some more. When my pet uncharms, I recharm it one last time, then help it attack Colo-Colo.
              • When either your pet or Colo-Colo is dead, finish the fight Curing when required.
              Strategy Pros:
              • No treasure splitting required
              • A lot of fun.
              Strategy Cons:
              • Not the cheapest option, as you need a few Hi-Potions.
              • The riskiest setup available.

              -------------

Treasure and Tribulation doesn't drop mannequin parts, either. It is BCNM50 in Giddeus.

If you do wings of fury you don't have to get the maniquin parts...just sell the astral ring and buy them from PC's outside in Rol fields.
