    Hello Everyone

    Could someone please explain detail how exactly the Beastmaster's 2hr is used? I mean I see that it enhances my pets power and lengthens the duration of charm, but how much power and how long does it length my charm? Is it guarenteed a certain amount? Could I say charm a IT and then hit my 2hr so I can keep my pet for however long? thanks so very much for all help ^ ^

    The length of charm is 30 mins but im not sure of any additional effects or how long those effects last.

      30 mins. I've never notice any power increase or anything.
      According to one statement I've read, if you manage to charm a tiger in Kuftal tunnel, you can pretty much kill anything that moves in the upper floor!

      One good way to test I guess is to fight ENM60 Pulling the Strings without 2 houring your pet. Since most if not all BSTs I know only need 1 pet, that will somewhat loosely determine if Familiar does anything.

        First off, no matter what level the mob is, if you can charm it and familiar it, then it's yours for 30 minutes or until it dies.

        I recently used it to get out of a potentially sticky situation.

        I was in the Oubliette using the Dark Aspics against Werebats, and I had a DC Aspic fighting a T bat. The bat that I was fighting was really low on HP, and another bat popped right on top of me. So, knowing I had 10 seconds before the pop was aware of me, I figured I could kill off my current bat in that time.

        Three misses later, I have a VT bat smacking me pretty hard. So, I WS my current bat, 2HR my aspic (didn't want to Leave/re-Charm and potentially mis-Charm), and sent it after the pop.

        Now, with regards to part of the description that states your pet's "powers" increase, it did seem to me that my 2hr'd DC aspic, though only slightly noticeable, seemed to tank the VT bat better than it did the T bat. The T bat had knocked probably 60% of my aspics HP off; however, the aspic was still alive after the VT bat fight.

        I know this is one instance, and the differences could easily be given up to chance; more tests would definitely need to be conducted.

          I see, thanks alot!

          I tried using a tiger in Batillia Downs and charmed it and then Familiared it, took a beating ; ; However when I fought stuff that was IT as well (like the goblins by the hill near the populat entrance to Eldieme Necropolisis) I was disaapointed with the exp gain ; ;

            Using a T or IT pet will always affect your exp. Lets say that you are level 50 and you charm a VT pet and familiar it. Your party now has 2 members, you and the pet, and about a 10 level spread in levels - that would be the same as you partying with a level 60, your exp would drop like a bomb!

            Where I like to use my 2hour is on an EM pet, for example on the jellys in SSG. Normally they would come uncharmed in 5-10 mins tops and start beating on me - familiar it, and I have 30 minutes of shameless skelly-bashing, just keep tossing a few zetas at the pet and rack up some awesome exp. There is an exp cut for having a pet out at the kill, but the chain 3's and 4's more than make up for that!

            Another example of the use of the 2hour is on missions or quests - CoP springs straight to mind! The IT slimes in Phomiuna Aqueducts can be used in a duo (or solo if you're REALLY reckless) to take down the minotaur, or they can be used to solo fomor beastmasters for your subligar. There's another mission in the sacrarium which involves a ghost with some really annoying tricks - an IT Hecteyes soon puts paid to him, in addition to laying waste to just about everything else in the room too! Again a few zetas will make sure the battle goes your way, just stay well out of range when you use them ^^

              I've noticed in BCNM's that if you familiar a jug pet their attack power goes up a fair bit. In Royal Jelly my pets damage went from 20 per hit to 30.

                Familiar is always noticeable for me, just have lots of food for your pet so it can live and use it to its fullest!

                  If you charm something, 2HR, release, then recharm it, will it still be your familiar?

                    when you leave a pet or release it, it disapears due to the patch on mpk so nope=/

                      Your 2hour is good until the pet dies, 30 minutes pass or the pet is released, whichever is sooner, so to answer Joon's question, yes you can recharm it (assuming it didn't despawn) but it is no longer 2houred and will come uncharmed in the normal ammount of time.

                        Quick note: if you familiar a jug pet, it will only last as long as it normally does. I've accidentally Familiared a Funguarfamiliar a couple of times (don't ask) and it vanishes 20 minutes later as usual.
