BST...repeat?

Hi, i recently started to get into BST. I was wondering if leveling (solo) with bst is repetitive. Is it always the same ol, charm, fight, finish off? Does it have its crazy moments? Im new to bst and soloing together, and just tryin to find the job for me. Thanks.

Also, what soloing opportunities do bst get at higher levels? Stuff that really makes bst worth it.

oh there's ALWAYS crazy moments. Like when your pet decides to uncharm at the most inappropriate moments or when you fail your charm 2+ times in a row and have a very angry mob (or two) chasing after you.

Man i wanna get out of 1-10 levels so i can start camping and doing that xD. Everyone has told me to just melee from 1-10...; ;

well, i know what your comeing from ; ;, but bst wont help much till 7-8ish+ just get a emp band, and go uber solo to 7 >:D

Yea, if there's one thing I never get tired of is hearing crazy Bst stories. If you're solo you're pretty much balancing plates on your nose, and if you're not careful it'll all come down on you.

I've had plenty of, as I call them, "Oh shit" moments. Fighting one mob, when my pet Uncharms, and links with another one of it's friends minding it's own business near by. Next thing you know, I have three mobs "beating me about the neck and ears" all while my attempted Charm was resisted. Next thing you know Odude's eating a dirt sam'ich, and the mobs are walking away like nothing happened.

There will be plenty of times when you'll run into that. Lv.18 was like that for me. No matter where I went, I either couldn't find any EM or T mobs to kill, or just horrible pet selection. I think it took me 6 hours to hit Lv.19 (Lots of deaths. /cry), but then I hit Lv.20 in just over 2 hours.

Cool, still only level 5 {/sigh}. Soloing right now with a orc axe. Can someone give me a link (to at least 20) on camps i should go to? thatd be awsome.

Everything in the game is repetitive

Use these early levels to experiment charm, but the general rule of thumb is to just melee until level 10 or so and then begin charming.

(On a side note I lost over 4500 exp last night in level alone. My net gain of EXP at 59 was -270 I think. Man it was crap ...)

Its the most exciting experience you will ever have, at least it was for me.

Yes, its repetative like all things in game. But you have to develop a strategy every different level. Best thing in the world imo

Yes and no, you Charm, Fight, manage hate, swap pets, kill, rinse and repeat. However, compared to partying, I find BST far more exciting; it is repetative, but it doesn't feel like it.

It sure does. I've had plenty of moments where I've done something I shouldn't have. Most involved taking on NM's that I shouldn't have; most recently Taisiajin at level 53 that a 75DRG had trouble with after I died. I ate a 500+ dmg Aeroga III after twenty minutes of kiting and throwing pets at the NM, but chipped off like 5% of it's health XD.

You will really enjoy BST if you enjoy exploring, killing stuff, shooting stuff with pink hearts, being slightly insane and last but not least, death. Death is the hardest part to get to used to when first trying your hand at BST. I always thought I was doing it wrong but I was reassured by other BSTs I would stop minding. Besides, a BST never dies the same way twice... Unless they're as stubborn as I am.

There are definitely very exciting moments soloing as BST, certainly far more than I ever experienced while party leveling other jobs. I recall one battle recently where a mob resisted Charm during a pet swap, and his friend linked. So I had three mobs beating on me. When the dust cleared, I was aggro free with about 40 HP left. Talk about living on the edge!

I love when things like that happen Lyon. My personal favorites as a BST was dinging level 31 at least 15 times in one day. Then there was the time I was fighting a dhalmel in Eastern Altepa desert. It killed me but I had Reraise on so got back up. I charmed the nearest beetle and went back for revenge as soon as I was on my feet. I was still weakened, hadn't bothered to cure myself and attacked the dhalmel that killed me. It was close but I managed to come out of the fight with my pride, my life and my need for vengence satisfied.

I can't wait to have those levels back so I can do it again.
