Getting Beastmaster anoyance since choco update

Just got Beastmaster yesterday and unfortunately, SE havn't noticed they have made it difficult to complete without anoying the hell out of people.

I did the usual go to valkram, find the nightflowers, get cut scene with Dietmund, walk back to Jeuno, go to his house, get cut scene, recieve beastmans whistle. then head to upper Jeuno to speak to brutus.

Now all is ok until this point.

I speak to brutus, get cut scene with a chocobo, it runs away thus starting the lost chocobo quest. talk to brutus again, tells me to go to La thein.

So I have to do the quest (for those that don't know heres a quick guide)

choco to La Theine Plateau find choco tracks near exit to Ronfare (around E-4 area) you get a cutscene. head back to Jueno, speak to Brutus for another cutscene. head to sandy speak to the choco master (guy you speak to for raising choco) noramlly has alot of characters milling around him in top left corner of stables) get another cutscene. Head back to jeuno get final cutscene and recieve a choco egg.

Spoke to brutus after that and was able to get final cut scene for beastmaster.

So if your doing beastmaster quest either do teh choco egg quest first or just be prepared to do it half way through beastmaster quest beofre you can complete it.

i get the feeling my girlfriend may have a similar problem impending.

She's currently level 15 and the other day ask me to go to Jeuno. I explain she's maybe a little low but we can go if she really wants to. So we stick on level one jobs and sneak our way through. She spends a while going round chatting to NPCs in Jeuno while i get on with a bit of crafting and whatever. She talks to Brutus and starts the lost Chocobo quest. Now what i'm guessing is likely to happen is that because she already has the lost chocobo quest active, once she hits 20, she's not going to be able to do her choco licence quest until she has completed this one. Can anyone confirm this?

I can't confirm but it is most likely the case you need to finish it, the main get a choco quest doesn't start until you are lvl 20 for this quest see here

Please note this is intended for beastmasters starting their quest whiuch is the reason its in his part of teh forum, I will be sending an email to the dev team to point it out, incase it has slipped through their net.

All you need to do is just keep zoning until he gives you the quest you want or just wait a little bit. I had this problem when I went for my choco lisence on Lakshmi. I just waited 1 in game day doing other quests then came back to Brutus and he gave me the lisence quest. And don't forget to send in your bug report about it. I don't think SE intended to mix up the quest priorities.

Nope had to finish the lost chocobo quest before he gave me the option to talk to him to activate last cutscene to beastmaster quest.

Asir, i left it 1 game day and tried talking to him, still told me to go to la Thiene i.e. to finish lost choco quest before I could talk to him again about the beastmaster.

The fact was even though Beastmaster quest was active and nearly complete it idn't overule the lost choco quest which I think it should.

Hmm, that's odd then Jarre. Perhaps it's different between the Choco license and the BST quest. Hopefully SE will patch up the quest priorities soon so it doesn't add further aggrivation to other players.

I did the quest a while back again as a different char and had a similar problem. But instead of chasing the chocobo, I bypassed Brutus and went right to the chocobo/kid guarding the chocobo (think its Shalott?) and from there it jumped right into the cutscene. Maybe try that and see if it works.

Well have to wait until someone on here goes for bst and has same problems, as I got bst (in the end) still sent my bug report in and hopefully they will look into it.

Congrats on joining our ranks of BST. Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as the rest of us do.

On a side note, I did think that lost chocobo quest was cute.

Um...dude? All you have to do is talk to him again really fast. I did it yesterday and got bst. Dont do the choco la theine quest unless you want to its a waste of time.

define rely fast, I spoke to him 12 times and he still wouldn't compelte beast, I waited a day, spoke another 6 times, nothing. Did lost choco quest, then he changed subject to beast cutscene. SE said they will look into it..

Thanks for the welcolme Asir, I look forward to playing a bst, will be different to the melee and tankign roles I am used to (war, Pld, mnk)

I'm levelling a new character, and hit the same problem with the choco quest. Keep spamming him (position carefully and use F-8 and enter) and he will finally give in and gie you what you need. I did it in 4 tries!!

It annoyed me at first, but after talking to him 3 times I got beastmaster. I didn't think to send in a bug report, but I guess it's a good idea since it seems there should be a priority.
