Not enough to justify subbing it unless you have it at high level, then you can charm decent level stuff. In a party, absolutely don't do it, but solo it could have some nice possibilities. But it'd be for the Charm factor, not anything related to CHR.

Were you talking going BLU/BST or BST/BLU? Did a little test as BRD and went BRD/BST and BRD/BLU and had higher CHR from BRD/BLU, but the CHR bonus comes from when you set your spells, and if you're gimp in spell department, you're wasting your time then.

Oh whoops, yeah I think I read that wrong haha.

It could definitely help, yeah. There's quite a few spells that you could set even as a sub to boost CHR. Cocoon is always nice, too. You would have pretty weak healing power though, Pollen caps out around 35, and Healing Breeze isn't very MP-efficient for solo. I could see a BST duo or trio team really doing well with 1 or more BST/BLU though.

I duo'd with a BST/BLU for awhile. The benefit of /BLU is in setting the spells as others have listed. Basically, at 32 with all the +CHA spells loaded up, you have the benefit of a free Monster Signa with regard to charm. This comes at the expense of your healing spells, however, and Cocoon is much lower duration than Protect, (Metallic Body is similarly useless when your uncharmed pet is beating on you).

To put it this way, if you /BLU you can pretty much charm any jelly you'd like. However, in the event that this jelly should come uncharmed while in battle, you're dead. While I liked the player I was duoing with, I'm probably not going to take her up on any more offers, since there were way too many times during that short session where I desperately needed a Cure II and couldn't wait out multiple Healing Breezes with a miner bee and orc impaler beating on me.

I really just started BST, and I have been subbin blu since about level 20 - the +chr and cocoon are well worth it - plus when you get high enough with the right spell combos you can get regen and clear mind. I duo with a bst/whm atm and originally was gonna go bst/nin - but i definetly think I'm gonna stay bst/blu for a bit and test it out.
