  • AFs personal observations

I’m bored @ work so I just wanted to talk a little bit about BST AF1 and 2.

A friend of mine decided to ditch his AFs and got the Bison/Brave gear for both melleing and charming. Note: I have nothing against the gear.. I have a lot of friends that love it and I’m sure it has its great stats.. But for some reason I don’t know why it does not attract me what so ever lol.

I always been using my AFs to charm and when I melle I change to DD gear so I did not know what benefits I was getting by my gear.. Until I started meriting with a bunch of BSTs

These are the stuff I have noticed:

    1. My charmed pet would last up to “5-7” min longer charmed than the other bsts that where not using AF to charm mobs.
    2. AF2 bst gloves – How does the “Enhances "Call Beast" Effect” work? When I go to ballista with a bunch of BSTs.. People tell me that my pet reads EM and that the others read DC. When you use “call beast” what happens is that whatever jug you call will randomly spawn as a lvl equally to yours or 3-4 lvls lower. The gloves just increase the chances for your jug pets to spawn closer or equal to your lvl.
    3. AF1 Helmet has the “Increases Tame Success Rate” I have this equipment change included in my “Tame” macro.
    4. AF1 Legs “Killer Effect” – nothing to say here.. They are just sweet coz they have that effect.. I don’t use em all the time.. The +1 version have like +6str I want em bad.
    5. The reward effects – I know that each piece can take off different negative status but I have not kept track of them… or even bother to memorize them. I read a post once where a dude did a bunch of tests and had a list of what piece of AF takes out what.
That’s all I have to say about the AFs.

    Re: AFs personal observations

I have some data from a few of these tests, so maybe it will help out.

    1. +Charm affects charm duration, so AF is much better at holding your pet for longer. [link=http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/jobs.html?fjob=8;mid=112993841313317510] Test Studies Here[/link]
    2. I have me a pair of the AF2 gloves, and I can say that it makes CC pop as EM. Fought a few eyes and have had my enhanced CC petrified by level 5 petrify, so she's either 70 or 75.
    3. Pretty self explanitory
    4. Again, nothing.
    5. All I know is that the body cures paralyze. Seeing as only the body and shoes have the "reward" effect, I assume that each covers half of the spectrum, but I could be wrong.

*edit* Been awhile since I've done HTML here, if someone could refresh me on the layout that'd rock.

I'm pretty sure the feet enhance the amount of HP reward heals, and the body lets it remove status ailments. Never tested it myself, though, only read about it.
          Ho-hum.
