Jug Pets

Hello I'm new to BST and I recently dinged to level 23.

I was wondering what it means when a Jug pet caps at a certain level and how long do jug pets normally stay out when they are used. I am currently using Fish and Fish Oil Broths and leveling in the Valkurm Dunes until level 24.

Also, if there are any fellow BST's on the Slyph server and me a /tell and we can Duo/Trio together if you would like .

Jug Pets essentially are the same level as you. However different jugs have different level caps (meaning whatever level you are they cannot surpass that level). There is a list of the level caps of jug pets in the bst bible.

Jugs last for 30 minutes, as far as i know regardless.

I think I needto update the link in the Bible, bear with me. I have 4 friggin' guides that I try to do work on every month, but I love playing this game. So......go make a character on seraph to PL my SJs...... That will speed stuff up immensely.

Anyway, most jugs end to cap at 30 minutes after summoning, except Lars/Chuchy/Amigo who go 15. The level caps should be in the Bible, I will 'try' to look at it this week, and if they are not will adjust it.

Yes.....i realize I have the jug recipes and caps area non-formatted. I will probably just do an image like for skill caps from the first part of the Bible. God I need an assistant or secretary.

I didn't say they were bad or anything, I just didn't understand what the caps for jug pets were and how long they lasted(which I now know now ). BST Bible is a great guide for new BST's like me.

The Bible is still incomplete by my standards. There are too many holes and places that need reformatted. I need more hours in the day damnit! Or a small child to tie down and make farm/level SJs for me....

In my opinion you should fix the Broth Shop Recipes/Pet Food Recipes, their just a little sloppy when I try to read them. After that, when you get the time, you should put a BST's role in Besieged/Assault type things. Don't try to overwork yourself a lot, just try to put things on like a schedule or a *Things to do* list.

Panzer Galahad is 15 mins as well. Funguar is 20 mins if you go by what Mystery tour says. I think the only one that actually is 30 mins is crab and CC.

Saerik has taken care of the caps and levels area for the next update. I'll try to do the recipes today.

The problem is that this whole thing was copy/pasted when I moved it from allakhazam and well.....let's say the nice and neat formatting I had there did not carry over.

Sounds like this has pretty much been answered or at least you've been pointed to some great resources, but thought I'd throw my two cents in :-) I've noticed that the jugs seem to spawn within a small level range as well when you call them, but i always consider them to be about equal to an EP-DC pet, and normally on the EP side of things. So lets say if a jug caps at lvl65, and you're that lvl or higher, then the jug fights about the equivalent of an EP-DC pet when you were lvl65.

I know that this isn't an exact answer by any stretch of the imagination, but using this concept usually helps me gauge how my pet will do against a mob for farming/xp/etc. In xp situations, I've only ever used a pet to tie up the mob long enough to buy me a few seconds to get out of a sticky situation - and perhaps I'm not using them for all I could, but saving me even one death makes them totally worth it in my eyes :-)

Hrmm. Chucky and Lars are only 15 mins? I know the NQ AntlionFamiliar and DiremiteFamiliar are 15 mins. I thought it was standard that all NQ jugs were on 15 minute timers and all HQ were on 30 minute timers. In my mind this explained why Amigo was only 15 mins, since even though it's a lvl 100 synth, it doesn't have a white box. Looks like I'm going to have to start timing my jugs...
