Re: BST in PT in Dunes

actually i partied in the dunes at lvl 15 as a bst/whm. i did the same kind of damage as anyone else there. the only benifet was i was able to cure other jobs to keep the strain off the other mages.

i believe all instances warrent a different sub. ive subbed drk, whm, rdm, sam, nin. in the beginning it really dont matter what you sub. but i believe after 12 the best sub is whm. cures are valuable. spells to cure status eliments start to come on. the best thing about whm sub is the simple fact is it reduces downtime drastically. a couple cures will get you hp to full in no time, an the time to refresh mp is very fast. alot faster then it would be to regain all that hp back.

what he is trying to do is have a pet. witch is a big waste of time til he learns leave, an gets a call pet. til then he should just go around playing war wannabe. as for why he is charming lizards. i think the old bst lvling guide said you could charm lizards that early.

Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

Okay i'm no expert on BST... but a bst in a dunes party should be able to contribute, even if just as a melee. Grab an axe and start swinging. THe Difference between an A+ and A- is negligable at that level. Also although it'd be or a limited time couldn't familiar be used for a while to help things along, or rescue in a tricky situation?

It sounds like this guy didn't know what he was doing, but that doesn't mean that someone who knew what they were doing wouldn't be able to be a productive useful party member.

Well BST and WAR have the same A- Rating Axe. At level 10 BST is no different than any other melee job in the Dunes since nobody has any job defining traits yets. I would gather a level 10-14 BST/WAR and WAR/MNK would parse close to the same if they were equally equipped. There would be little to no difference in STR rating since BST can use Orcish Axe to 15 easily. Quite honestly BST (as well as just about any melee with DEF gear and food) can even tank at those levels.
