I find this obsession with fighting T+ mobs just a little wierd. I routinely solo only off DC or EM and the XP is great! Why? 2 words, LESS DOWNTIME! I'm a lvl 55 bst/brd (yeah, I know, I'm wierd, but I'm an Elf with crap MP, deal...). So you fight your 3 T+ (if you're lucky or taru) and then have to rest. I fight my 7-9 DC-EM and then have to rest, the XP is about equal; however, I prolly die less, get more drops/gil and the only downside is that it takes more work to cap my skills (which is why I duo/pt every 3 lvls or so). I also spend less time looking for prey, if it's there it dies, even if it's only EP- And BTW, my pet STILL holds hate most of the time.

Lvling solo in toau has been incredible for exp. You don't always have to fight VT's but you can because they tend to have low hp if you find the right spots. I want from lvl 61-65 in a very short time, the entire way I was chain 4 and 5ing everything. Fast fights are where its at, thats why bombs are still king.

At 61 is there actually a place to level in the expansion? I thought you can't do anything till 62. Lemme know cause I'm about 1k from 61 and I'd love to hit up toau asap!

Check here, Although it says 61-63 I lvld there from 61 to 65 no problem. You will need most of your af because the saplings will be mostly tough at first but if you pet swap they won't uncharm on you.

Thanks a lot. Right now the exp is pretty nice in Boyhada Tree, only fighting funguars near the entrance. Although when I die ONCE in a spot I get fairly discouraged, so if that happens, I'll check out the mines.

It picks up with each really cool thing you get:

It does get better as you get higher (with the exception of some levels, can't remember levels that were slow specificly.)

Just went to the Mire at 61. I had disconnected while fighting aquarius so the tree left a bad taste in my mouth. All I can say about the mire is: HOLY SHIT. I stayed right in F10, at the zone, and used my 2 EM treants to destroy the birds. 1 EM treant and I easily destroyed a T bird. It took both to kill a VT. I just hit 62 like 15mins ago. Took about 3 hours. 18k exp in 3hrs, not bad.

Hello all ^^

An item I'd like to add to the list of insanely good leveling gear is the Gaudy harness - accept no substitutes. It makes the difference between resting and not resting at all, other than 1 tic now and then with a Dark staff. It quite literally removes the size of your mp pool from ever really being a consideration as a soloing Bst/mage.

Now, it can be a little involved getting one, since it's waiting on the far side of the Promies over in Phomiuna Aqueducts, but it is so absolutely worth it.

If you have to beat the Promies, it's worth it.

If you have to level up a more Promy-friendly job, it's still worth it.

If you have to level up a different job, organize your own Promy runs, join everyone involved to help them/make them farm animas, and buy them all gear, food, and meds, it would still be worth it.
