      Re: EXP Spots in TOaU

Sorry this is so long, but I found a great xp camp by mistake, based on the early posts in this thread, and I thought that I'd share my experience so everyone can benefit ^.^ This thread originally said to try Caedarva Mire, but at the time did not have <pos> or anything of the like other than to say saplings vs. birds. I went to the area and just randomly chose one of the three exits of Nashamau hoping to find the one the poster mentioned. I got the wrong one and stumbled into a great spot anyway...

From 63-65 the xp here was phenomenal, and with xp band and sanction I was getting 6k xp/hr for a long time. At 66 the majority of targets were now DC but I was happy to get about 2-2.5k xp/hr with only sanction on (about 4k/hr with ring) and it was easier, more action (b/c I would fight alongside my pet), and safer than any other camp I tried. I didn't bother trying to continue at 67 since all targets would have been DC, but you could probably grind it out if you were so inclined.

      Camp Details:
If you leave through the North exit of Nashmau, you will come out to a large marsh. This a roaming camp, but there are plenty of Marsh Murres to fight, using saplings or leeches (my favorite pet ^^)! With my gaudy there was ZERO downtime, but I'm assuming the camp is still doable without it. Nothing aggros besides the Chigoes mentioned in my Warnings section below and the elemental when it's around.

Pets: Saplings and eventually leeches (preferred pet)
      Enemy: Marsh Murre

My final strategy here was to only use the NE section of the swamp, where there are 3 bird pops. There is a sapling that spawns near one of the birds so I would use that against it, then move to the NE corner and get the leech in the tunnel and use it against the bird that spawns near the tunnel (usually fighting him in the tunnel so the leech wouldn't despawn and would stay at the lvl I wanted him), then run south along the east side of the swamp and get a leech and then come back up the east side to where the third bird pops. Then rinse and repeat!

The birds seem to respawn so fast that I was never waiting for a repop even with only a 3 mob cycle. Originally I had started fighting near the zone line where only two spawn, but I couldn't keep chains going there though because of all the running required to get to a third mob so I eventually switched to the strategy I described above.

      WARNINGS:
During rainy weather a Water elemental spawns in the NE section of the swamp so you have to be mindful of casting when he's around, but for 4 levels of xp he was rarely there. Also, there are two Chigoes that spawn in the middle of the Northern section of the swamp (normally near the wall), however if you stick near the water as you run through you won't get aggro. I stopped trying to pull the bird from that area altogether because if I happened to get Chigoe aggro they would ruin my chain (and normally almost kill me). At 65, an EM leech can have trouble taking one of them down because of their extremely high evasion, and they're only DC so it's not worth fighting them. As a sidenote, ppl die to them ALL the time as they're running through so if you're nice you'll do your best to {Raise} whenever you can. ^^

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

          Re: EXP Spots in TOaU

I've seen the Caedarva Jnun spot posted in various spots. There's also a possible alternate at that same spot. Was messing around at that area trying to get Karakul skins. Died when the sheep popped 3 chigoe after WSing to my surprise. They're all DC to me, but I think a couple levels lower and XP could be pretty nice.

          Caedarva Mire J-8 (first map)
Pet: Oil Slick (65-67), Karakul (68-70)
          Prey: Karakul (68-70), Chigoe (??)

Camp on the west side of the two ponds. The Chigoe will run themselves down the west path, so position yourself accordingly if you need to take a break w/o flea aggro. I recommend 66-68 for duo and 69-71 for solo. Since at 66, your only EM option is slimes, have both BSTs charm the same slime, since there's no zoneline or safe water to lose aggro. One slime between 2 BSTs is still plenty. I also recommend you have Stoneskin up or TP ready before engaging Chigoe (especially solo) and backing off when you need to recuperate. It's no Colibri-fest as far as xp, but it's still pretty fun. Chigoe are listed as 62-66 on FFXIclopedia, but I think they are closer to 66 than 62.

Also, do not think that your slime will overpower the sheep. They hit surprisingly hard on your Oil Slicks. I would even venture to say that they ignore a great deal of the slimes' physical damage reduction. I can't seem to figure out why.

If this camp doesn't work out for you, you can always just fall back on killing Jnuns.

              Re: EXP Spots in TOaU

I'd like to add an update to this camp:

              Level: 61-63
              Caedarva Mire: 61-63
              Solo Area: F-10
              Pets: Treant Sapling 61-63
              Prey: Marsh Murre 64-68
You will have to pet swap most of the time. Don't ever think one sapling can take a VT but 2 can definately take one down. At 61 the exp has been awesome so far. Chain 4's for almost 300 without ring. Very good spot. For the stronger VT keep your pet till the bird dies. Bring sushi as they have good eva. (Thoronas)

              My say:

60-61 This camp also works well as a Duo camp, for later levels in this camp i'm not so sure
however. Me and a LS buddy, Baquora (BeastInTheSack, Garuda) were doing Chain 4's
without effort; half the time we were working with one natural pet and one Jug, easily making
the kills without pet swaps. We found food to be unneeded in Duo, but for solo i'd still say
sushi is worth the investment, since we could engage at the beginning to build TP in duo,
making it almost guarranteed that we'd have at least one person with TP at the end of the
fight, and the other rolling TP over to the next fight. We sometimes needed to Reward our
pets to get them through the end of some of the closer battles, but not often.

Reccommend Full AF for extending duration at 60, at 61 convert pets to EM. Make sure
you have a fairly large amount of +CHR to minimize misscharms at 60; we had some
trouble with Baq using only +14, while I skated by on +22. At 61 Baq had a lot less trouble
when the pets had all been changed over to EM to him.

90ish no Chain at the low end to 200+ on Chain 4 at the high end with no ring.
Sanction available in Nashmau just a skip away makes it really nice here; No aggro, but
both pets and prey link with like creatures. Watch the pet AoE on Sic; it can be rather
bothersome, but not lethal in Duo usually.

We were able to release all the time before kills; the only death (mine) was due to a
triple misscharm when i wasn't at max HP and Tame wasn't up, Baq was busy with a
pet on a bird, and even a cure 3 from Baq didn't hold hate off of me for long.

Oh and one other thing; even with full AF, we found that we would have some uncharms
before the end of the fights at 60; recharming mid fight was somewhat normal; fair warning.

                Re: EXP Spots in TOaU

Hey, Hello!, this is my first post in here, I'm a BST 61 and about to be 62, my rl brother and me have been duoing since we were 35, but I didn't see any camps in ToAU for duo 62-64 or something like that, I'd appreciate any replies of good camps for duo in this lvls. Thank you in advance :D

The solo camp in the mire is perfectly fine for a duo.
