Hello beastmasters! (I'm coming from Alla)

I'm sure you've read or heard the fluff about Alla being purchased by a parent company that also owns IGE or some part thereof. I don't know the details, and frankly, I don't care. If you haven't heard, that's fine too.

However, in the aftermath, a link was posted to this site, and I have been browsing the forums. I must say I like the format, and the level of intelligence and civility seems much higher here (although the Alla beastmaster forum was the one shining beacon of light within the FFXI alla site), so decided to become a regular. Hopefully I can contribute along with some of my friends and help liven up the place a bit. See you around!

Wow sure didn't see today's news coming. Kind of mixed feelings about it. I'm an active lurker (hah) both on here and alla. While the main alla forum always made me want to bash my head through my desk, I have to say that the BST forum was a wonderful change. The level of intelligence, the thorough discussions, and general camaraderie of the BST community served as inspiration and relief in the journey to 75 (still getting there).

I can see that this will drive many BSTs away from Alla, and I can only hope that they all congregate again on one board (here or elsewhere). It would be disappointing to have people scattered on multiple boards.

I'm happy to see the BST bible is being transplanted though, hopefully it'll bring the same crowd here. A hearty welcome to you all!

Just came myself today... the news was upseting to say the least. I loved allah, but I cannot associate with them anymore.

Althouth I don't play bst anymore, this seemed as good as any other place to state my transition to this forum.

As the other refugees may have seen from my alla thread, I'm still torn about the whole thing. I spent 9 hours today researching the scum that is IGE (and it's now 2.30pm and I still haven't slept ). What's happening now has happened before to other sites. I even read predictions from more than a year ago that this would happen as IGE turned up the heat on Allakhazam. Oh well, it's done now.

The trouble is, my Beastliness is kicking in and I want to stay behind:

a) to help out my fellow BSTs who've stayed;
b) to help out new BSTs who come along;
c) to make IGE's existance as miserable as possible.


I'll be split between here and there until I know it is finally a lost cause. I still have a spark of hope that if enough of us kick up a fuss back there, then IGE are going to lose a lot of money.

Hi all. I wasn't super-active in the BST forums, but I'm so happy to see some familiar faces here. I still don't know how I feel about what's going on with Alla, but it just doesn't feel like "home" anymore. Anyway, thanks ffxionline BSTs for having us^^
