  • How much are you willing to pay...

For a jug pet? On one of the very rare occasions in which I partied with a beastmaster I asked him how much he paid for jug pets. If he used a hare it would be about 100 gil he said, and if he used a funguar it would be about 2k.

He also said the most expensive jug pet is 200k !? 0_0 that would have to be a very profitable fight...

The 200k one is probably the cactaur. Sometimes used on god/hnm fights for unmodified damage from 1000 needles.

Cactuar and Homonculus have very rare ingredients that you get from very certain monsters ie homonculus the philosophers stone which on my server is 200k a bead and sun sap for the cactuar

I spend an average 1-3k on nq jugs but then again i only hit 25 so i expect to pay more as i get 40+ which is where the "good" jugs cap hare and sheep at 35 and mandy and funguar as well as lizard at 40

normal jugs are anywhere from 1k to 10k.
carrion broth (lizard) can be 1k a stack!
now, meat broth (tiger) can be 8k-10k a stack!
some of the newer jugs, like the antlion one can be pretty pricey too.

but like other people said, the real crazy ones are probably reserved for special occasions like hnm or w/e.

I really like the meat broth, tigers kick ass but they cap at lvl 40 The other really good one at my lvl is the funguar one but I notice the original poster said the bst paid 2k for a funguar broth and thats just a waste of money. People for the love of god DO NOT BUY FUNGUAR JUGS FROM THE AH!! They are 800 gil at the M&P store in kazham. Thats one of the reasons I have been using funguars for so many lvls. That is all.

If SE really wanted to make BST's just a little bit happier they'd have all non HQ broths (excluding homunculus and amigo) sold at npc vendors somewhere. I might actually use some of their new broths then.

The 200k broths are HQ Antlion and HQ Deremite. The ingredients for both are either incredibly rare or inconvenient for farmers (non-stackable, low profit margin), so when cooks DO manage to get the ingredients, they then have to contend with recipes which may not have more than a 10% HQ chance. Add all that up and you realize that the existence of these jugs is rare at best.

Most beastmasters only invest in such expensive jugs for things like Maat fights (level 70 cap) or higher level missions that they have failed at using cheaper jug pets.

                        RunningDemon is a Carrier'er!? Blasphemy!

I personally just use whatever the hell I have sitting around. It's usually Carrie, but on occasion I pull out weird jugs for Dynamis. I remember pulling out ChopsueyChucky, and half of my shell freaking out.

                        It was a cool feeling.

                            Eh, that's alright.

I'm only 69, and already I'm being told to Ninja everything. It's depressing.

Also, I was 74 at some point, but I went emo and sold all of my gear. It was either Beastmaster or Ninja, and it was obviously an easy choice. >.>

I'm pretty cheap about my jugs, too. I swore long ago, though, that I'd never again be caught out without at least a few Carries in my inventory, so I do keep those (about 35k/stack on my server).

If I really want to show off on the rare occassions that I party, I get Panzer Galahads...better damage than Carrie, but being asked to pull with your 100k/stack jug pet will make you cry...
