  • The effectiveness of pet food post patch

One thing that got overshadowed in the last patch was the addition of regen onto pet foods.

"The beastmaster ability “Reward” will now include a “Regen” effect. The amount of HP restored will be determined by the level of the pet and the type of pet food used."

I just recently decided to experiment on how much this is actually giving our pets and thought I would share my data in the hopes other bst have more to share.

For my test I was using courier carrie as a lvl 52 bst with af boots. Using pet food zeta I healed carrie for 400 hp which was 24% of its hp. For 13 ticks afterwards carrie regened 1% of its hp for a total of 13% hp regened, which breaks down to about 210ish hp. So pet food zeta on a lvl 52 bst pet gave him about 600 hp back. Thats not too shabby.

Now the test was not perfect but it was a start. I think that pet food zeta will always regen 13% of the pets hp but I could be wrong. On higher lvls pet that would be a huge amount of hp regen. I have been unable to log in for awhile so I can't do any more tests but I will update this thread at a later time when I can. Until then if any other bst has anything else to add that would be great.

Re: The effectiveness of pet food post patch

Ok well my credit card has finally been unfunked so I can play again and I did some more tests with petfood while lvling npc. So here's what I've got so far.

I'm still lvll 52 (waiting to see if friends still want to do set with my new hours)

I decided to try the lower lvl petfoods since they're dirt cheap. Even though people don't use them very much I thought it would be good to start with them.

        So anyways petfood alpha:
        Pet: Funguar familair
        AF Boots: Yes
        Hp restored: 44
        Hp% restored: 2%
        Hp% regened: 2%
        Total hp gained: ~85-88

        petfood beta:
        Pet: Funguar familiar
        AF Boots: Yes
        Hp restored: 88
        Hp% restored: 5%
        Hp% regened: 5-6%
        Total hp gained: ~170-180

Finally I tried petfood zeta again, this time without af boots
        petfood zeta
        Pet: Funguar familiar
        AF boots: no
        Hp restored: 360
        Hp% restored: 21%
        Hp% regened: 13%

So the lower lvl pet foods actually get a nice boost from the added regen. Effectively doubling their potency at lvl 52. Which doesnt mean much I guess considering its still a tiny amount of hp for my pet. What was interesting is that the regen is not affected by af boots.

More to come some other day.

Re: The effectiveness of pet food post patch

Actually i have done some as well and i have to wonder if hp regen is in proportion to pet hp since i have use pet food zeta as a lv25 bst and noticed a maybe 10-20% hp restoration at lv17 charming funguar and beetles in carps landing i think pet food has to be updated at certain lvs like broths since they become obsolete quickly maybe im stating the obvious meh... just noob bst so dont flame meh lol
