I'm really surprised that there is more pessimism here about this then there is at say alla which is usually a hot bed of whining and hand wringing. Does this suck for bst who needed to drag pets around a zone in order to exp? Hell yes. Does this mean all our camps are totally screwed? Hell no.

One thing that I am most curious about is when our pets do disappear how long does it take for them respawn and do they respawn with full hp? If the respawn doesn't take very long this could actually be good for us if we are able to camp near where our pets spawn. I think there will be ways to work with this update. It may make some zones useless to us for exp and farming which does suck but I think resourceful bsts will be able to work around the new despawning of monsters.

One more thing I'm curious about is what this does to aggro pets that we drag out of their radius. If we used them just slightly out of their radius but still close enough to make it easy to get them after they respawn then lvling actually got easier in certain areas.

Lol, can't say I support RDM meleeing when there is so much to do (especially against Weapons in Moon that like to come to pts with 5+ buffs, need constant silencing and have gay AOE stun. . .)

But alas, good luck in all your endeavors. Perhaps the individuals who want to invite BST will help out a few thankful souls. Perhaps not. I am merely a Refresh Pimp. What goes on in the front line past the MB is not my business, lol.

When ppl realized the striking difference between FFXI and other MMOs was that partying is a requirement -.- We have been proven wrong for 2 years, now SE is acting like an adult and taking away our fun.

It happens! I am awfully cynical, and to things outside my orb of control (read: MP relate) I am often trying to just have an objective point of view. I was planning on Raising BST soon anyway, and it's a shame this update happened, but at least i didnt get spoiled. Just like I'm raising NIN through Gobline rush (yay, the Jungle -.- awsome), and RNG in Valkurm post update (. . . . .) I'll be raising BST w/o leave. I guess it won't matter until 35 but still. . . might change dynamics even before hand.

Heh, well my point with BST being solo. Yes that was how the mechanics and story seemed to suggest, but now the mechanics does seem to suggest more that they should play more of a role in party use. Their ability to charm other mobs though does give them viability still to solo better then many of the other jobs could. Just got to wait it seems and see.

Truth is, I never saw the point of BST being solo-only. I mean, it rocks for people who don't have the time for long PTs and stuff, or people who just like to solo, but I don't really see the point. The way I see MMORPGs is that you raise a character who can help a party in some way. So BST would raise their level to be able to get more powerful monsters to help your party as a DD, essentially adding a seventh member to your party.

Of course, the best thing about MMORPGs is playing how you want. I'm not gonna knock anyone who wants to play solo.

That being said, I haven't played BST so I can't say how good or bad the changes are. I'm just saying that I think BSTs should have some, if not much, use in PTs, and that it shouldn't be defined by its ability to solo any more than a War or Pld. My condolences to those whose playstyles are negatively effected by the change.

Beastmaster was supposed to be a Damage Dealer like DRGs but now they all solo.

what a fitting comparison, considering we are even lower on the invite chain. this update does not fix that (especially now with the DRG boots).

you know, if you think SE has some wonderful master plan to have everyone play together in a normal party, they should stop manaburn parties. how bout them apples?

Fuck it, I'm duoing BST to 75 with a friend of mine. SE wants to change what a BST is, screw them, I'm playing BST the way it was meant to be played. SE fixed the MPK problem...good job, now they've screwed over the entire BST community. Most people never liked BST because they would "MPK" parties at XP spots (90% of all BST XP spots are out of the reach of most party spots, with the exception of Altepa, CN, GC, and Valk.) Now many people don't want to play BST..good job SE. And to those of you who say "Quit bitching" and "Screw BST"...I doubt very highly that you've ever had a BST help you out and get an item for you like I've been helped by them. Show me where SE said BST wasn't supposed to solo..I want proof. SE has officially said it didn't like NIN tanking, but they grew to appreciate it. I can show you where SE has officially said that. Do BSTs have the right to be upset about this...DAMN RIGHT!!! This isn't like the RNG nerf, you RNGs still had the chance to XP at a decent rate...now during some levels, it will be damn near crap to try and XP because we have to run back and fourth to charm pets.

heres what SE has accomplished , they just poked the wasps nest (bst community) with the stick (nerf stick if you will) . so many bsts are talking about going on an mpk rampage now because of this. any abilities added and the 100% xp from jugs is bs its just a god damn payoff to keep quiet , bst was the only actual solo job and S-E is too retarded to let anyone have any fun anymore. they are so greedy they let gil sellers screw the economy and screw every job to make it so jobs take longer to lvl , and then they add in some quests n npc crap to make everyone stay longer just so they can stuff their wallets full of money. btw i didnt bother reading any of the other posts.

Wow...I JUST got MPKed.....I was camping Amemet with a 75NIN friend of mine, and guess what happens.....Yihaduha (Idiot gilseller...huge asshole as well) trains all Lizards in the Amemet spawn area when me and the NIN claim....Fucktard warps, and guess what....all the lizards link. Luckily, I was subbing BLM, and used ES + Sleepga, and we finished Amemet off as soon as possible, while sleeping the lizzies 2-3 more times. Good job SE, you also half-assed your MPK update, as well as fucked over BST.
