Need some advice at 46...

i just started leveling my BST again after about a 6 month layoff and i've made it from 44-46 over the past 2 nights. i'm just looking for any advice and/or input as to where i might want to go next. the EXP is getting kind of slow in Yhoatar Jungle.

i've read through some guides and it looks like Gustav tunnel (fighting Gobs), Eastern Altep (fighting Gobs w/ Doom Scorpions?) or Crawlers' Nest (Scorpions to Beetles/Crawler's?) are my best options but i'm not really sure.

input or advice from anyone who has some experience at those places would be greatly appreciated. i'd like to level solo and i don't want to hinder any regular EXP parties. is that going to be a problem in any of those areas? are there alternate camps in Crawlers' Nest and Gustav where i can get my EXP without disturbing others?

any info on Doom Scorpions would be great too (are they hard to charm?, specials, etc). i've never charmed a Scorpion before, it looks so sweet.

I would recommend Yuhtunga. I'm not 100% sure on the levels and cant check from work, but I remember getting great exp in the Southeast corner of Yuhtunga Jungle using Soldier Crawlers (non-aggro) against Goblin Poachers and Robbers. Lots of times they will suicide, giving you sweet exp chains. There are lots of crawlers around, and no parties to bother you, os no worries about running low on pets. You may be too high or too low for this area, so check ffxi.somepage.com to see the levels.

If you feel brave, you can also charm bats near the entrance to garliage and send them on bones and pots. If you stick to wingrats, the parties wont be mad at you. Just try not to screw up and train a bunch to zone.

You can also do Desert Spiders vs Dhamels in West Altep and or Dhamels and Spiders against Desert beetles. Warning those beetles are pretty tough and will give your pets a beating, so be ready to do a few swaps.

I also recommend going to Gustav Tunnel; you can charm the Hornflies there, and at 47~48 move on up to Lizards and leeches. At 46~47 the EXP is very quick, by killing gobbies and other mobs that are T.

Pets: Makara, Labyrinth Leeches, Labyrinth Lizards, Hornflies
Targets: Gobblin Robbers (THF), Goblin Poachers (RNG), Goblin Reapers (DRK), Hornflies, Makara, Labyrinth Lizards (watch for Baleful Gaze)

If your timing is very good, you can easily avoid goblin bombs, unless you already know how to do so already

(BST)> (Gobbie)> <(Pet)

After you let your pet grab aggro, you can safely melee behind the Goblin. When you see the "Goblin ready Bomb Toss", immediately unlock your target and run the opposite direction while keeping an eye out for other forms of aggro at the same time. If you can execute this correctly, you'll be able to dodge bomb aggro nearly all the time as long as the Gobbie has focused hate on your current pet.

Also, learn to tell the difference between normal bombs, and suicide bombs, if you haven't done so already. ^^ The suicide bombs sound a little more different, but if you can pinpoint the sound, immediately Leave your pet, and you'll easily get full EXP for the mob.

Lastly, you can move deeper into the tunnel to avoid contending parties, because some parties like to EXP down in Gustav... although supposedly Bune spawns deeper in the tunnel (I've never seen him for the few days I was down there, however).

I went to gustav at 47, and havent left (except for duoing in Labrinth of onzozo). Now i'm 52 and xp is still pretty decent off leeches. If I get a chain going I can about 250-300. At 47 you could also try crawlers nest.
