  • information on duoing.

ok when do you start to look for a duo partner. or what lvls does it become a good option. an since you are duoing do you fight monsters differently then you would solo. like you an a partner find evan match an take on vt or it instead of a tough. im afraid im going to get asked into a duo party an not know what im doing, or what to really do..

Personally i didn't really find Duo that useful until i hit about 25/26 and did some Duoing (as well as Trios, 4 BST Pts, etc.) in Rolanberry Fields as the Exp there was a bit on the slow side.

That seemed to work nicely. Also, at around level 28/29 i was duoing in Korroloka Tunnel. We would just grab Jellies when we could (they can fail on you 4-5 times even at EP Con), or EM Bats and take on High Toughs (Bats or Spiders). The exp wasn't SUPER high, but it was steady in the 90-100 range with very little downtime.

Also once you are 29-30 you can easily Duo the 2 Gigas that spawn there for a very nice 200 exp, and possibly chain the two of them if you are fast and lucky. It takes a pet or two each, but isn't very difficult.

Duoing Pre-35/Leave is going to be much different than Duoing after Leave. Obviously the whole Beastmaster way of life changes post-35.

If you want to Duo before 35 it is entirely possible. You just have to know where the places are, and how you want to go about it.

First the "Hows" then the "Wheres"

You have a couple of choices on how to Duo post 35.

    A) You each grab an EM and go after High Toughs, or Very Toughs. If there is a ready supply of EM pets and little Aggro you can take down ITs occasionally (like the case with the Gigas in Korroloka). This method stays pretty safe, provided you talk to each other and have Macros set up so you each know what the other is doing/charming/sic'ing/fighting/etc. You can Melee with your pet if the mob you are taking down needs it. I myself don't find this to be that necessary so far. We bring food, let the pets fight it out... repeat.

    B) You grab a pet, your partner does NOT... until your pet is engaged. Then you let your pet die, he/she then will set his/her pet on the mob, let it gain hate, repeat.

I don't have much luck with Style B... not enough places where you have an endless supply of Pets to choose from, so you are constantly left with a dead pet from BST A, and BST B can't find one in time to take its place.

So i usually Duo Style A^^

As far as where, like i said, i was in Rolanberry Fields Duoing with Bats/Wasps/Grubs (or Crab Jugs if you can) on Quadavs and Goobues at 25/26.

Qufim would work decently as well, but i preferred Korroloka at 29-30.

Now... as luck would have it i also tried my hand at Duoing in Maze of Shakrami (since i was looking for my RSE keys) and found that once you find a good camp (everything aggros) this place isn't terrible at 30/31. We charmed Ancient Bats or Grubs (whatever EM we could find) and took on Goblins. This place is a bit hectic at first as you will get Aggro from everything but Leeches. Farther in (from the Bubu Penn entrance) we also found a room FULL of leeches (non aggro) and 3 wights that you can stay far enough away from. We pulled those leeches out of the room and took out Gobs nearby.

Once Alla wakes up again, head over there to the BST forums and check out the "Everything you need to know about BST" Sticky. Near the bottom is a group of useful links. You will find most of the information i gave you (other than the personal experience) was from those excellent guides.

    Good Luck^^

Personally, my first duo was @lvl 32, and that same guy has been my duo partner ever since.

Was weird, we were both in Korroloka Tunnel at the crab room that attaches to the spider pathway. He had the crabs camped, so I took the spiders, but they were giving low exp. I grabbed a crab, and killed it, but then we were both sitting around waiting for spawns. I figured why compete when we can team up, so we headed to East Altepa and found some EM spiders to send against Tough spiders. Soon we leveled to 33, and we started taking on beetles. I guess it just seemed that the exp was so easy in a duo, why go back to solo?

The only time we solo now is if one is trying to catch up to the other because the exp gap got a bit too much.
